Although our ('superior') room was spacious, it was very 'dated'. it had no view though we were offered a room with a canal view for a further euro 50 per night. the hotel was hosting a wedding on the saturday of our stay, our first floor room was literally 'shaking' to the music until 1.00 am. I liked tha level of service and location of my room, it was a great room overlooking the canal on the corner with a balcony and it was fantastic. it was my second time at de l'europe and i will always stay there in the future. When i made the initial reservation on this website, i reserved 2 rooms and when i called the hotel to cancel one of them they had only one reservation scheduled for me so that was a bit scary.

The friendliness of the staff and their willingness to make our stay memorable was our 1st impression. we also thought the room vey comfortable and quiet with a lovely view of the canal. the hotel has an 'old style glamour' feel about it and we felt vey much at home there and went a long way to creating a very good impression of amsterdam and it's people. will definitely be returning!!Anonymous
