 "Wonderful Place"
I love staying in the Hotel Lantaerne. We've been there 3 times now. Yes, it has it's peculiarities, but the staff is working hard to make the place better and better. Each time we go we find it one step sweeter. I like the staff members who are attentive to our needs and kind in often difficult circumstances. It can be an adventure, but it's always worth the visit.

 "perfect hotel for short stay."
Fine hotel. Small rooms, clean bathroom facilities. Don't expect too much of the rooms, but if you plan to be out a lot (walking around), then it's a cheap and good choice. Noisy during night. Perfect for short stay. Options to prepare a little meal in the main area of the hotel. Close to centre, everything walking distance!

"one week at the lanterne's hotel or marnix hotel wich is the same"
+ : location, cleaning service- : cold receptionist, no parking even if they say on the website that there's one (people must go 4.1km away into a public parking)

 "Noise, Noise, Noise!"
There is a night club behind the hotel: music and histerical shout untill 3am.The beds are very very small and very unconfortable. Some of my prescription drugs have diseappear during the day: that's the way to doing the housework in this hotel, I suppose !

 "Short stay visit"
The reception staff need to be more polite and remember that they are there to make to customers stay more pleasant. I wasn't too happy by the way I was treated by the receptionist. The location is very useful to get around to specific tourist sites.

 "Tourist trap"
I needed a hostel for one night, and as the Amsterdam hotel scene is so completely screwed up (way too much demand), most hostels have a 'two-nights-stay minimum' in the weekends. As I didn't want to pay for 2 nights, I ended up in this hostel, because it is one of the only where you can book just one night in the weekends. But 68 euros for one night in a bunk bed in a room shared with 5 other people is way overcharging it I think. Also, the bathroom didn't have a lock and I was sharing the room with5 guys (I am a girl). So I had to go the bathroom in the hallway, which belongs to another room, and of course they were knocking on my door a few times. The bunk bed was shaky, every time one of us moved the whole bed moved with us. All in all, it's doable when you don't have another place to stay, but you know they are overcharging incredibly.

 "Very bad hotel"
I stayed in this hotel with no electricty for 2 nights plus there is no wifi at all in my room, I have to go to reseption to get internet. Room service didn't clean my room evrey day and once they forgot to leave toilet rolls and the other day forgot to leave towels. the girl in the reception was not helpful at all. i don't recommend this hotel to anyone.

 "Good for the price"
Not very clean, no service at all, very small room. But not very expensive, so if you are not looking for great luxury, it will do. It turns out that this hotel has recently merged with the Marnix hotel, so you have to cross the street to talk to any staff.

 "Good location"
Pros: Good location.
Cons: The room was disaster, instead of going to hotel de la lantre we were brought to hotel marnix so we felt kinda cheated. room had only two single beds and one bunkbed instead of promised 4single beds. wi fi was useless as it was way to slow to use, was taking about 5mins to load a web page. staff was unhelpfull gaved no information about tourist atractions what so ever. also shower drain was blocked. i would stay away from this hotel .

"Very little except staff talked friendly but useless though"
Pros: Very little except staff talked friendly but useless though
Cons: Complete rip -off they advertise the dormitory and double rooms as if it is a proper living place, then everything is scaled down in reality. dormitory staying is like a gulaag punishment and noisy road overnight and other guests throwing bags in yourr face when you sleep. about 10 people sharing a dysfunctionals shower and toilet. happy to have came out without getting mad.

Cons: We were in amsterdam this august2011. the hotel location was good right in the centre of the city. but it was a three person room and very small no room for luggage. also the towels were dirty and the washroom was small. there are 83 steps to the fourth floor from the street. hotel staff very nice. but we paid too much for this room.

"There's wifi at room; close to the museums; nice pubs nearby"
Pros: There's wifi at room; close to the museums; nice pubs nearby
Cons: The room is so tiny we can barely move not alone put our stuff
there are mice in our room. i ain't kidding. and
the drain in the shower is blocked and every time we shower, it's flooded the whole bathroom. there's no place to hang our clothes
the bedsheet is yellow-ish, look disgusting; and the next day i found a bud on my bed!
quite noisy: u can hear someone talking outside and even on the street
literally the worst hotel i've ever stayed in my life
