The hotel is located on a quiet street in the city centre of Amsterdam, close to Leidse Square and the Vondelpark. A 5-minute walk brings you to 'Leidseplein', Amsterdam's main entertainment area. Here you will find hundreds of restaurants, bars, discos, coffee shops, the casino, shops and the hotel's own cafe "Rock In and Roll Out".
Another 5-minute walk will lead you to the main museums: the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum of Modern Art. The Anne Frank House is a 10-minute walk from the hotel in the opposite direction. Most of the important attractions in Amsterdam are within 15 minutes walking distance.
How to reach the Hotel de Looier?By taxi, from Schiphol Airport: From Schiphol Airport you can also take a taxi to the hotel. The journey from the airport takes about 25 minutes.
By train, from Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to the below step).
By tram, from Amsterdam Central Station: You can take tram nr. 17 from the square in front of the station to the 'Elandsgracht'. From there you can walk to the hotel in approximately 2 minutes. Look no further,i spent nearly 3 days looking thro all the specs of the so called budget hotels,this one outshines them all.ima young 49 year old who has travelled all over the world and this one is in my top 3 alltime for value.style all of its own ,all mod cons,breakfast was amazing-eat as much as you want and do without lunch.instant hot water in your spacious ensuite.we booked a twin and a single,the single was upgrade to a triple at no extra cost.quiet back street 10 yards from canal and 10 yards from a hidden antique centre,Any negs you have read will have been done by nonseasoned travellersAnonymous

Location is brilliant, literally 5 mins from the leidesplein !The included breakfast was very poor; when we had breakfast at 9 (about an hour before it was due to finish) it was quite clear that everything on offer had been out since 7 o clock that morning.....Hewitt

The priorities i requested seem to have been followed up. ie a quiet room and a firm bed. an excellent breakfast supervised be a charming woman.The receptionists did not seem happy in their work. we did not receive a smile in the 3 nights.

Helpful staff and clean rooms. is in a very quiet neighbourhood, but with short walking distance to attractions, shopping and restaurants.The bed was not very comfortable, and the hotel could need an upgrade. squeeky floors, and we could hear most of what happended in the room nextdoor and in the hallway.corley

There breakfast was good. I had an issue with the hotel spouting off policies to us and not being able to back them up with any documentation. unclear and inconsistent business practices. the front desk associate also got on his tiptoes to peer into our room, which was a room full of females in bed, when he came to knock on our door. additionally leaving the key at the front desk was strange and put an undue burden on us when we came back to the hotel room in the middle of the night. Acceptable place to stay while in amsterdam. within walking distance to most places of interest, and yet not in busy central town area. no telephones in rooms, but tv with cnn. price is right for facilities. good breakfast included.
