 "very good stay"
My stay at hotel de paris was very good, the staff was very polite and helpful, the rooms were clean and of a good size and its located 3mins from main square were you will find alot of restaurants & entertaiment

 "Disappointing"
This hotel is very basic and shabby.. Although the room was reasonably clean, it was tiny and the bed was very small and uncomfortable. Also as it was on the street side, it was very noisy. There was hardly room to move in the bathroom and water splashed out of the shower cubicle wetting the floor in the bedroom (there was no bathmat). Breakfast was ok.

The hotel was great, would stay again, slightly noisey at night, we could hear people walking around above us but other than that, for the price I cant complain

 "Clean and a central location what more do you need"
I had a refurbished room very small but for a city hotel normal . Was very clean fresh towels daily breakfast was good enough to start the day. My room was by reception and very noisy with lift etc however few glasses of wine in the surrounding bars blocked that out location is close to everything, staff were friendly if you just want a clean central base it's fine my prices were high as business convection on and all hotels full so paid a premium but overall it was fine.

 "Cheap Place for budget travellers"
It is a very small hotel with even smaller rooms. The building is old and creaky and the rooms are completely forced next to each other. You can easily hear people making out in the room next to you and above you. People walking on the stairs is another noise that wakes you up time and again from your slumber.Breakfast cold cuts were old/smelly and not fresh.But all being said, i was a solo traveler and needed a cheap place with a single bed and it did suffice my needs. So if you want a cheap place without any problems from above mentioned lines, then go for it. But avoid if going in a couple !

 "3 days in Amsterdam"
I stayed at this hotel during my spring break for 3 days. The furniture and decore in the lobby will make you feel like you just entered a haunted house from the 60's but the guy at the reception was quite friendly. No need to worry about the stairs as there is an elevator. I stayed in a single room as I was travelling alone and was quite disappointed to see that the room-safe was not functional also the t.v remote was not working but it just needed to a battery change which was done later upon request. The breakfast served was really good ranging from fresh juices to coffee eggs and what not. The biggest prolem that seemed was the distance from the dam square/central station which was quite a walk especially if the weather was too cold or you were really high. Nevertheless it was quite close to the Hard Rock Cafe, museumesplein and heiniken experience. Overall it's a good hotel if you're not interested in sleeping all day in the hotel. Plus a coffeshop right across the street would make it worth a while.

 "terrible"
this cost 177 euros for one night. It was a horrible hotel...bathroom was dirty, there were no towels in the room...had to go down to the lobby in the morning to get towels and was provided one bath towel, one hand towel, no bath mat...for two people. shower drain didn't drain, shower was dirty, room and floor smelled of latrine. Staff was indifferent. This was a total rip off.

 "Good Value"
8 of us stayed in two quad rooms recently and were pleasantly surprised with the hotel given the price we paid. It is in a good location close to the bars and restaurants of Leidesplein but within walking distance to everywhere we wanted to go. Trams are easily accesible also.The rooms themselves were spacious and clean and beds really comfortable. The bathroom and showers were good too. We were also pleasesd with the breakfast. There was some noise from other guests talking loudly on their way to their rooms and some tram noise from outside which may bother some people but didn't cause us any problems.Would definitely stay here again if we returned to Amsterdam.

Pros: The room was very resonable priced, the bed was comfortable, in-room facilities good, ie television and alarm clock provided.
Cons: The attitude and manner of one member of reception staff was appalling - when i made a simple request for a receipt after i paid in advance on check-in, he immediately became extremely rude and surly, he told me they don't issue such receipts and kept asking what my problem was. i was even considering making an official complaint about this man.

the room was above a busy main road and the windows were very poorly soundproofed, it was extremely difficult to get a proper night's sleep due to the loud noises from the street below ie cars, trams and people.

the ensuite bathroom was extremely small with hardly any room to move at all.

the stairs were extremely steep, i've never ever came across stairs as steep as that anywhere before.

Cons: The size of the room for the price paid was ridiculous!!! there was a lift, no elevator that was filled with cleaning supplies all the time. the maid service never paid attention to cleaning your room if you had the sign out do not disturb. the ammenties were none, not even an ice machine. the room walls were paper thin!!!! you could hear everything from rooms down!!!!
