 "good Location"
Realy good location!it is close to everything you need. The rooms were old and there are cats in the hotel, but the people that worked there were very nice. If you are young and are not picky, this is a nice place to stay:)

 "Good adress but for an average quality"
Team of the hotel was very friendship, but there were so many rules to follow (not food, no smoke in rooms...). There were a lot of noise and bed was not confortable, so it was difficult to have a good sleep.Anyway, it's a good adress because of team and location on the city.

Friendly staff guy at the desk pointed out some great places to visit. The room was clean, however the bathroom could have been cleaner, especially the shower.

 "worth the money"
We stayed at Downtown Hotel 22 july 2012. We had a twin room in the attic which was basic. It was also exceptionally clean and was better than we had expected. The en-suite was new the towels and bed linen were good quality. Breakfast was as you would expect - continental with a good selection. What we got for 35 euros was well worth it. The staff were exceptional. They were extremely polite and helpful. It is a no smoking hotel and we liked this very much. The lift only went to the 2nd floor but we weren't expecting one at all so this was a bonus. I have to say, I'd read about noise from the club next door but when we went the club was closed for the milk festival so I cannot comment.

 "4 day short stay"
I must admit after reading some of the reviews from previous guests was a bit concerned that we,d made a mistake but found that the negative comments were totally unfounded. we had no problems with the location, the room, the breakfast and friendly service. Good value. One minor problem was lack of storage and beds comfortable but rather small otherwise it wa great. Would definately recommend to anyone.

 "Clean, friendly and helpful staff, but cramped and rubbish food"
The staff were awesome, helpful and friendly. When we arrive there was a hidden extra charge that we had to pay, which took us by surprise. It was probably in the small print somewhere but we felt it was a bit deceptive. Only 5% though.The room was a 4 person room, with 4 single beds. It was tiny, but for our type of trip we didnt really mind as we were there only to sleep. Air con doesnt work in this hotel, really could have done with it as we got good weather.The breakfast was awful, utterly pointless in my view. Some croissants, some jam and butter, some awful cheese and ham, and tea and rubbish juice.Location was good, right next to a big square with lots happening, but on a relatively quiet street so sleeping was peaceful.Overall the cost was quite a lot considering the size of the room, but for travellers or a bunch of mates its perfect, as its location is central, and the staff offer good advise and reccomendations. It's also 24 hours so you can rock up super late (or early) and crawl to bed.Not recommended for families or people who want a quiet getaway. Travellers and mates it's perfect, and you're not going to get cheaper for such a central location.

The hotel is close to a coffee shop and to a disco. If you want to sleep well, this is not the place. Nights are quite noisy due to the neighbor shops. Ventilation is also bad, and becomes quite hot during nights.

 "Get together with friends"
Only good thing bout this hotel was location. The rooms were very basic not very clean. We were told on arrival that we weren't allowed food into rooms as they didn't want to be like all other hotels around them & have mice not good start. So we left are luggage went straight out to meet rest of our friends who were staying in diff hotel. We came home late & unfortunately had left a bag with unopened chocolate bar in it from are flight but it was now opened had been nippled opened by mice. Very disappointed :((((

 "An okay hotel"
Stayed there for 5 days. The service is good and i think the hotel is suitable to young travelers going there on a budget. Quite accessible. 3mins walk to the nearest tram station. Alot of places to eat around which open till late.

Pros: Good location in nice and pacefull street near city centre. Cleanliness. Responsive staff.Cons: "Parking available" means that you should find a place somewhere in the crammed streets and pay 5 €/hour. Rooms are small. Realy small. Just narrow beds, no furniture, no free space.

Pros: Hotel rooms are nothing like the ones shown on website. i was expectin better rooms with bigger single beds, wires sticking out of broken lamp, which i found hazardous as wires wire live.

Cons: Not as tidy, window curtains dirty, live wires sticking out.

 "Hotel is in a really good area"
Pros: Hotel is in a really good area. tram stop really close by and lots of shops and places to eat. all hotels in amsterdam are expensive so this one is pretty good for the price and the time we booked.
Cons: The hotel staff were overly friendly and the breakfast was really basic.
