The hotel is stunning, the rooms are of a decent size as we were expecting very small rooms. the whole hotel was classically decorated and beautifylly maintained. the staff was very pleasent and the location perfect. would definately stay there again
Would have liked tea and coffee making facilities in our room, however, there were only communal facilities for this

Great location. the deluxe room had a fantastic bathroom with a whirlpool bath - lovely.
A little bit of traffic noise as our room was on the 1st floor overlooking the street at the back of the hotel (best ask for a higher floor).

The hotel is beautiful, is quite nice to walk in and be greeted by nice staff. there is a compliemntary drinks area, which is impressive, no only do they give you coffee and tea facilities, but all sorts of coffees and teas, and hot chocolate and biscuits and sweeties everywhere! the bar had also free detox water, refreshing and deliciouous and free peanuts and almonds, really nice little touches! free internet in the library. all an all a nice hotel with a tranquil and comforable inviting atmosphere. is not your new, clean lines minimalistic hotel, but it has a lovely feel to it.
There are a few things they could improve on, for example, the keys are huge, granted they do ask you to leave it when you leave the hotel, but believe me you woul dnot want to carry that around. we got a room that faced the street and the windows were not realy double glazed, so you could hear every paser byer, however if i had to go back to amsterdam, i would not hesitate to book this hotel again.

Superb position for most of amsterdam's central attractions. all are within 15 to 20 minutes walk if you choose to walk. i would recommend walking as you see much more of the city. hotel very pleasant and relaxing. free coffee, tea or hot chocalate and biscuits most welcome when returning to hotel. hotel staff very welcoming and friendly.free use of internet and printer useful for on line booking return flights. would definitely stay there again.
Rooms overlooking spuistrasse subject to some noise so would recommend requesting room overlooking singel canal when booking hotel.

Ideally, we would have appreciated the opportunity to pay a reduced charge for a non cooked breakfast in the dining room. as it was, we paid for a full breakfast only because we wanted to sit in the dining room

Fantastic hotel!! room and bathroom was large for european standards. very clean and comfortable. it was expensive but we felt that we got our money's worth. my wife loved the bathroom - two sinks, tub with very good shower. lots of hot water and good flow rate, which i loved. big bath towels. bed was also very comfortable (queen size). our room overlooked the canal and had windows all along that wall. it was cool enough that we didn't use the a/c much, but it was present. hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. lobby had free coffee (expresso) and hot chocolate, which we made use of on a regular basis. they also put out small snacks and such for the guests. the hotel also had many umbrellas they would loan out for the frequent drizzle. we used them several times. we would definitely consider staying there again.
We didn't do the hotel breakfast due to the cost (16 euros). plenty of near-by breakfast places and pastry/coffee shops. room cost was high (us$330/night), but once again we thought it was worth it.

There is nothing about this hotel that i didn't love. it is elegant, dripping with old world charm. our rooms were spacious, beautifully apppointed, with views of the canal -- and canabis-free, which we appreciated. the staff was wonderful, giving us suggestions for dinner & even checking the mass schedule at the local catholic church so we could attend services on sunday.

Fantastic location close to all central attractions. we had a room in the new courtyard area of the hotel-it was beautifully furnished and spotless, very quiet and we were given a free upgrade to a deluxe room as i has emailed about the trip being for our wedding anniversary. the hotel lobby was very comfortable and the free drinks and cake/biscuits most welcome after a hard days sightseeing.friendly staff.
