Tram 4 (direction RAI) will take you from central station to the 'Jozef Israelkade'. Descend here and then cross the bridge and you will see the Hotel Flipper sign on your left hand side.
How to reach the Hotel Flipper?From Schiphol Airport: You can take the train to Amsterdam RAI railway station (10 minutes). From there, follow the directions below.
From Amsterdam RAI station: Take tram 4 direction 'Amsterdam Central Station' and get of at tram stop 'Amstelkade' (5 minutes). You will see a 'Hotel Flipper' sign just before the bridge. Just follow the sign (turn right into the Amstelkade).
From Amsterdam Central Station: Take tram 4 direction 'RAI' and get off at tram stop 'Jozef Israelkade'. Cross the bridge and you will see the 'Hotel Flipper' sign on your left-hand side.

The breakfast was really very nice and fresh. nice coffee! staff friendly and rooms cleaned every day.we wanted budget accommodation but it was really nice.nice quiet suburb, easy accsess by tram or even a brisk walk to city
We stayed a week so we got a bit tired of the same variety for breakfast. would appreciate a small washing rack/ lines in the shower just to hang wet washing/underwear.(we got very wet in a rain shower)Anonymous

They dont provide meals of any kind but staff henry went out of hios way to look up pizza shops for me online Not really tho it would be nice for the city tax to be included on the easy book website and not included at the hotel, it give you a better idea up front how much one is going to spend.Anonymous

This hotel is fabulously located 10 minutes tram ride (#4 to rai) from the centre of amsterdam in a quiet residential area. it's handy for amstel station(10mins walk) too for mainline trains to rotterdam, utrecht and other cities as well as the arena, and there are good bars and restaurants nearby. the hotel was clean, well run but the decor was a little tired in places. i took a basic room option, which was exactly that, basic. clean, tidy, functional and for someone like me, who primarily needed a good (if uninspiring) breakfast and a comfortable place to sleep at night, at a price which gave me value for money, in what is a quite expensive city, then this fits the bill exactly. i'd have no hesitation in recommending it and i do plan to return in the future. Excellent position, close to the center city, good transportation connection, lot of shops and pubs in close distance. very good value for the money.Expect to pay in cash (card payments are possible, but there will be surcharge for the transaction) and you will be also asked to put down deposit of 30 eur, also in cash.Wade

Decent breakfast and the free wi-fi was great. it's in a residential area, so it's quiet, but within easy walking distance to a high street with shops and services.The iron they let me borrow was atrocious and left brown marks on my shirt. also, my room didn't have any windows, except for the skylight! not a problem if you're just using the hotel as a bed and a shower (not ensuite), but i really felt like i was sleeping in a closet!ozcelik
