The room was very small. despite the hotel booking being confirmed with my credit card. i was unable to pay for the room by credit card at the hotel reception. i then had to go out and locate an atm to withdraw euros and incur atm charges. Anonymous

The brothers who were at the front counter were very nice and very helpful with calling cabs and what not.The room was very gross. the floor was stained and dirty. there was sewage coming up though the drain in our shower. the hotel was really a grin and bear it experience. Anonymous

The hotel was in a very good location 3 min from dam square close to all tourist attractions. the staff especially the manager esat was very helpful, polite & well informed. you need to be prepared for very steep stairs that we found more funny than nuisance. we got a room with a huge balcony & made a full use of it especially my roomates who decided to smoke in the middle of night! the room was cleaned daily, the towels were changed everyday too & the bed sheet were clean although with some holes! we could also purchase soft drinks from the reception 24/7. our flight was in the evening & were allowed to leave our luggage in the hotel until the late afternoon.The hotel needs serious redecoration! the breakfast is served 7-9am meaning we had to get up earlier than usual. the offer selection of jams, one kind of sliced cheese, white & brown bread, coffee & on request tea. don't forget to pack flipflops as you'll need them badly when using the shower. the toilet was outside our room, near the reception & we felt a bit unconfortable using it at night as there were always lots of people there. Really friendly staff who were available 24 hours a day. very pleasant to talk to and were happy to give information /advice on the city. towels were replaced daily, bedding was clean and comfortable. great location!Not the ideal hotel if you don't like walking up stairs!Anonymous

Easy to book failed to tell the hotel about are arrival, there was only 1 night availible so we had to trek around amsterdam on a roasting hot day looking for a hotel which we ended up paying a lot of money for Anonymous

Staff were good and the hotel is in an superb spot in the dam.can't really grumble for what was the cheapest room in cemtral amsterdam. This was a very basic and small room that could only really be used for sleeping in but i was aware of this prior to booking.there is no tv,telephone or storage space,just a basic bed and sink.Ritchie

The staff in the hotel were tremendous. very helpful and always there when needed. plus, there was never a shortage on toilet roll or clean towels, which is usually the case with hotels where the toilet is away from the bedroom.It was what i expected (like student halls), however, for around the same price in britain you definitely wouldn't expect to see bedsheets and carpets in the mess they were in. the place just needs a bit of a revamp.Anonymous

The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of amsterdam, walking distance to all the attractions. the room we stayed in was clean, spacious and quiet. the hotel staff were friendly and the hotel had a very nice atmoshere. for the price of the room i would definetly book to stay there again and i thought after staying there the previous reviews i read were a little harsh. yes, there are some steep steps but nothing drastic and the hotel is after all a typical amsterdam building with plenty of character. if your looking for somewhere thats cheap, clean and comfortable to crash after a long day its perfect.
