Cons: Steep stairs
Cons: The only negative thing is regarding the bathroom facilities because in the room you get a basin but you need to share the toilet with the other guests and i have not seen anywhere a shower.

Cons: Room is very basic and over priced.
Cons: Quite a hike up to the third floor - tiny winding staircase with heavy luggage - but very european and typical.

Cons: The room was very small and we had to shower on another level to what our room was on. showers had no privacy also.
Cons: My (single) room was the smallest i've ever stayed in and very sparcely furnished. the toilets and showers were ridiculously tiny and almost impossible to use without a certain amount of difficulty. everything feels dated
Hotel Hegra Amsterdam is a small family hotel in Amsterdam. It is housed in a 17th century merchant house on one of the most beautiful canals of the city. Details from this period are still to be found in the building. The Herengracht (or Gentlemen's Canal) was originally dug in 1614 as a site for wealthy ‘Amsterdammers’ to build their imposing houses in which they lived and conducted their business.
The possibility to make a boat trip starting from the hotel along the canals down the Amstel into the country side with windmills and ship locks, gives you a feeling of the Golden Age period. Be sure to visit the Amsterdam School architectural movement of the early 20th century by a hotel bicycle. The beauty of the city's canals is seen immediately at the doorstep of Hotel Hegra Amsterdam. The museums, shopping streets, flower market, antique shops together with innumerable other attractions are just minutes away from the hotel.
All the rooms have their own unique character and very specific charm. None of the rooms are alike in regard to their size and/or layout. In spite of the fact that the rooms in Hotel Hegra are quite different in character and apperearance, each is attractive, intmate and provided with every modern convienience.
