Hotel Hermitage Amsterdam

Nice cosy hotel. Clean and friendly. Unlimited use of tea/coffee/juice machine which is wonderful! Minutes from a shop which is open quite late, and a short walk (5/10 minutes) to redrambsquare. Would definatly stay again.

Hotel in a decent location and close enough to everything you need. Was very noisy in the nights we were on the first floor and found it difficult to sleep. Main man at desk was always miserable and didn't like to help

Hotel was quite central, close to lots of bars and cafe's. Basic but very good for the money. We had a triple room, not huge but enough room, bathroom was a bit on the small side but very clean and had everthing you needed. Would stay again.

Delighted with location just around the corner from Hermitage Museum within walking distance of the main canals/tourist areas as we were in the city for just two nights. Possible to walk from main railway station if light luggage, otherwise just two stops on metro and a short walk to hotel. Our room was on ground floor right next to reception and in corridor to breakfast room so there was some noise but no more than experienced in other city hotels I've stayed in. Room was bigger than I expected it to be (though it was a bit of a squeeze to get into shower as the en-suite is very narrow). Decor modern in contrast to exterior of hotel. DVD/TV didn't work very well but this was only an issue because we wanted to catch up with Olympic coverage. There's so much to see/do in Amsterdam that no-one should need to watch TV! Can't rate customer service as excellent (receptionist was texting when we were checking out) but staff did try to help when we needed assistance and there was always someone available. We didn't take breakfast in hotel (available for an additional charge) so can't comment on that. Read the small print - there's VAT, local tax and a charge for using credit card on top of price quoted. We made a last minute decision to go so may have found something that was better value for money if we'd taken more time over booking but overall we got what we wanted - a great base, a clean room and en-suite.

We stayed with 2 adults and 3 children in the 5 persons room. Perfect location and pefect room to stay together with your children in one room. We all really enjoyed the stay.

The room was very small, but enough for me. It was very clean. The bed small and a little bit cold. By the way, It was a kind of refugee for me, because of the silence and quiteness of the neighbourhood. I recommend this if you don't expect too much and you get enough with few things and simple bedroom.

Pros: Great location and very clean. nice touch with the free hot drinks 24/7
Cons: We had the big room on ground floor 5+ people. we could hear every conversation at reception very loud especially early on after a heavy night on the tiles :-(

Pros: Nice staff, free wifi, free coffee. the room was good, not that big but big enough.
Cons: Some details in the hotelroom could have been fixed pretty easy, like a missing lightbulb and some stuff that was hanging loose in the bathroom. didnt bother me that much, but these things could have been fixed under 5 minutes.

Pros: Great staff and helpful for giving directions around the city.
Cons: Nothing really - it met all expectations

Pros: The hotel staff was very kind and helpful. pleasure to be in touch with. also the hotel cat was really nice surprise.
Cons: The wc was pretty small. it was pretty much more bed & breakfast type of the place than the hotel. ok, anyhow.

Cons: Expensive, as all other hotels in amsterdam.

Cons: Beds are not great. generally shabby around the edges with no intention to fix anything. payment upfront or they take your passport. ouch!

Pros: I love this place!!! located in a quiet area but within walking distance of all the sights. staff were excellent and extremely friendly! our room was fantastic with contemporary decor, plenty of space (for 5 of us!) and the bonus of free wifi. you also get free coffee/tea/hot chocolate from a vending machine. i'll definitely stay here again on my next visit to amsterdam!

Cons: Very small bathroom. hard uncomfortable bed. tv didn't work

Pros: People very friendly. nice quiet location.
Cons: We had a room at the front next to reception. the room was very noisey from people entering and leaving hotel and people congretaing in reception to watch tv. tiles missing from floor in shower.4% charge to bill if paying by credit card.
