The location and beautiful view to the canal.very romantic.nice and friendly staff.
Very small room. as usual, hotels in amsterdam are overpriced (although we got a good price for the room with a view - a couple had to change room because of the steep chairs)

We stayed in the hotel - in a great location for centre of amsterdam - staff very friendly and helpful. room basic but clean and everything we needed.
Would be so good if there was tea and coffee in the room - but it seems common not to have it in hotel rooms in amsterdam? after a long day around museums and galleries, a cup of tea in your room would be great.

We had a lovely view from our room, i am used to amsterdam and it was 4 floors up all stairs which would be difficult for some however the room was unreasonably tiny, we could barely step into the bathroom unfortunately. on a positive note the staff were extremely friendly but the bedding and carpeting etc. needs a complete overhaul

The service was excellent and all the staff were polite and helpful. everything was clean, and the breakfast choices were good.
My only complaint was the constant noise from outside, into the early hours of the morning. my room was at the front and the window was difficult to close and so remained open. the hotel, however, cannot be responsible for any noise from outside! if i were to stay at the hoksbergen again i would ask for a room at the rear of the hotel.

Good location and quite spacey for a central location for 4 people. the appartment was better than a quad room any day.

Great staff, friendly and attentive. super location. clean. good value for money. breakfast was above average.
The bathrooms are very small and the stairs are steep. i would not recommend this hotel to anyone above average in size or unable to climb steep stairs.

Very helpful friendly staff, excellent location close to dam square.
The room we were given was extremely small. other rooms however looked a bit bigger when we passed one being cleaned. we were right at the top of 5 flights of stairs, very hot and stuffy, room only for a tiny bed and no other space to move. view of a noisy building site. duvet had cigarette burn holes in and pillows dirty.
