entrance and reception/breakfast room (& downstairs loo!) have had a lovely make-over which the rest of the hotel would benefit from.
lovely cat!
Cons: Stayed in room 16. smallest double room we have ever stayed in. very steep narrow staircase up to room, not a problem for us, but could be for some people.
you have to collect tv remote control from reception!

Pros: Very friendly staff! great location. walking distance to all major attractions, in entertainment area but still very quiet hotel for a good night sleep! steep stairs - very typical to most buildings in amsterdam.

Pros: The girl who checked us in was very nice and helpful and the lady working at breakfast time was pleasant. the shower was hot.
Cons: Room had a stained carpet and had the appearance of a cheap hostel. the couple working in the evening were very disinterested and not at all friendly.
