Room was very pleasant, looked recently modernised although the bathroom is quite basic. we had a canal view which was great. staff were very pleasant and allowed an early check in. the hotel also provides an area to store luggage which was useful.

When seeing the reception and general hotel area this gives you the impression the whole of the hotel has been renorvated and is clean. hot water isn't a problem and the breakfast was ok, nothing special. great view onto canalThe room was cold and smelt stale. our double bed had to single duvets and the whole room just didn't seem clean. in all i'd pay a little extra or stay further from the centre to get a cleaner and more welcoming hotel.Anonymous

The location of this hotel is excellent and the breakfast facilities were excellent. staff were helpful and the hotel was quiet. overall very clean. Hotel rooms we used were very small and we struggled with our suitcases to store them during our stay Anonymous

Very nice, clean hotel in a very good location - easy to get to all area's within the city. nice quiet street with good selection of restaurants and bars near by.Memeber of staff forgot to book the airport shuttle bus and we had to sort this out at another hotel - disapointing!!!!Easson

It is in the centre of the city, thats about all that it has going for it.Room was tiny, litterally could not swing a mouse never mind a cat!!!
i stayed for 6 nights, bedding wasn't changed once.
no tea/coffee making facillities.
sink in the bathroom leaked.
had to pay to watch english speaking tv. (bbc1+2, ridiculous!!!!!!!)
pay tv was not worth paying for, movie channel, sound was terrible, hissing.
towels were the right size for ooompa looompas.

My room was small but really cosy and very clean, made me feel very comfortable, i got everything i needed and found the hotel location really good and the helpfulness of staff was great. when i get back to amsterdam i will like to go back to hotel nesAnonymous

Good breakfasts, apart from kool-aid instead of real orange juice. friendly staff.Everything is extra. only hotel in the world to charge €9.50 per 12 hours to see bbc or cnn on tv. wifi very expensive.Anonymous

Perfect location, very nice view if you get the room with canal view, rooms of normal size, helpful staffStrange shower/bath (impossible to explain, you have to see it), but ok, no international tv channels, but i guess i could get them for extra money.Anonymous

Hotel nes is located in a wonderful central location, just 5-10minutes walk away from central station. the room was a perfect size and the decore was tasteful. i had requisted a canal view, which we got. the staff were very pleasant and were always willing to help.Anonymous

The central location was the only positive thing about the hotel.The receptionist was really rude and unfriendly. first, he checked me into a small single room then when i told him that it was too small for me he checked me into a double room. i was jet-lagged so i took it. 2 days later my friend checked in and he was given a larger room with a view which was a lot better than mine which was a box with no air. i was having breathing problems in there.
then when i asked him why he had done so as there were hardly any guests in the hotel, he told me that i had "an attitude problem" and that "i should take my things and leave." this really infuriated me and i checked out that same time.
the stay was upsetting. i will never stay in this hotel, and i will never recommend this to a friend or relative. i don't want them to get insulted by lowly staff in the hotel.

Location is perfect, the rooms are small but clean and plenty of choice of food at breakfast. the hotel staff are friendly and speak very good english. We were on one of the top floors and the bathroom ceiling slopes so the shower only comes to your shoulders and it's very difficult to wash your hair.
our stay was over the queens day period and the noise from outside is very loud. the music stopped about 3am but the car horns went on until about 5am in the morning so didn't get much sleep. Anonymous

Staff very helpful. breakfast well presented and staff at hand to provide anything extra needed. information about sightseeing also provided by staff, knowledgeable about what was asked.also well placed for getting to the station.paul irons
