How to reach the Hotel Okura?*How do I get to the Hotel Okura by public transport? :
By public transport:
1) From Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)
2) From Central Station: You can take tram 25 in front of the station to the 'Cornelis troostplein'. The travelling time is ± 15 minutes and from there you can walk to the hotel +/- 2 min. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM
3) From Station Amstel: From here you can take tram 12 or bus 15 to 'Scheldestraat'. The travelling time is ± 10 minutes. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM
4) From Station RAI: From here it is a 10 minutes walk to the Hotel Okura Amsterdam.
By car:
From all directions, follow Ring Amsterdam (A10). Take exit RAI (S109) and follow at the traffic lights, direction RAI/Centrum (S109). Follow the signs direction Zuid (S109). You drive straight on (passing the Rai Congress Centre on your left hand) en you follow the right lane, into the Scheldestraat. At the traffic lights you drive straight on and after 500 meters Hotel Okura Amsterdam appears at your right hand side.

Excellant hotel with all the facilities. the restaurants a bit pricy but there are choices and the snacks in the bar are very reasonable so it does cater for all pockets.Papanikolaou

The staff was very helpful, we got there early so they let us check in early. the deluxe room was just like the pictures. it was 20 mins away from dam, but it was nice loads of shops in the area
in the evening the cleaners give your room an extra clean
worth the money spend
It doesnt tell you that you have to pay a deposit for every night you stay

As the "old look" hotel in a suburb, with high price giving impression this hotel is for selected personalities."okura" as a brand in my opinion should bring "eastern smiles and services", but it is actually doing a strict business like hotels. the price is maybe one thing, but the way services is conducted is the most important that i don't think okura amsterdam successfuly achieve the excellent services as expected.Anonymous

It is well located, city centre very accessible by bus. the view of the room was excellent. about the room, good dimension. nice room service. the japaneese restaurant was excellent.Room would need to be refreshed as it looks a bit soiled. we had to claim once for the room to be cleaned. breakfast very expensive. The check in process was extremely tedious, with no one of real responsibility being present in the evening and at night to deal with accounting problems. for a hotel of this calibre, it was very poor indeed. i will remain with the sheraton and intercontinental groups from now on.Curtis

It is 5*+ , it really is a nice hotel with beautiful rooms & great views.Be prepared to part with lots of cash as nothing there is cheap, its not a place for bargin hunters. Liam Sharpe

The room was well dressed and comfortable, but not eexactly large for a 5 star. the chef at the sushi bar was really good and friendly.Room service provided tea in a leaking cup with no napkin, not a 5 service start. the sushi bar, albeit really good food and great service, was incredibly expensive at €125 for two, including one beer! the breakfast at €29.50 was extremely bad value, we got there at 09.50 (closes at 10.00) and had difficulty getting any food as most of the food was gone at that stage and was not being replenished...hardly five star service. the staff were very efficient at enforcing the 10.00 close down and we felt like intruders in the breakfast room. in general, prices in the hotel are very high so be prepared to spend.Anonymous

Location near the grtner convetion center was excellent and allowed us to walk to it.We have asked your hotel manager at the time to leave one night early. this is due to problems we faced and need to go london to attend to them. he was not understading and just showed no care or respect.Anonymous
