Hotel old quarter was brilliant, room basic but clean all you would expect for the price and the position of the hotel, staff excellent friendly and good laugh, food excelent and reasonably priced, this hotel is not for people who want a quite holiday it is lively with live muisic at night positioned in the centre of party town, so go with that in mind and you will have a brilliant time.
Hot water broke but was delt with very quickly.

We had a double room which backed onto the canal, we had fabulous views and the location of the hotel was perfect.
The hotel was a little noisy so for some people they may not like this, our room was on the level of the bar/restaurant but it didn't bother us, and if you have a good night out there you wouldn't notice it anyway.

Clean and not all that noisy considering its on a road leading to red light district. a cooked breakfast of bacon, eggs and toast was a pleasant surprise. bedroom at good temperature.
My single room was tiny but adequate for somewhere just to sleep. didn't use the small hanging cupboard because it smelt musty/damp.

Good and friendly staffs always willing to assist.
Nil, but the hotel should try and provide internet access to all room rather than be in the bar alone

Accomodated in a building opposite the hotel, not the hotel itself
Very steep stairway to reach our room, no telephone as described, very basic room, noisy at nights from residents above us.

The overall impression of this hotel on arrival and the rooms for quality were poor although the downstairs bar and the staff were excellent .
Noisy because of neighbouring rooms, the constant smell of marijuana.

Great location to explore amsterdam only 5 mins from central station. rooms are quite basic but very secure which is a bit plus in a city, access can only be gained via a door whick=h has to be buzzed open by the hotel staff, a great place for a group to stay but would definately not suit older clients due to the steepness of the stairs. breakfast is the same every morning but its enough to set you up for a couple of hours. people complain about the noise in the hotel but i did not have a problem with that as it tended to be the early hours by the time we got in each night
Very steep stairs

This is by far one one of best locations i've stayed in amsterdam. straight out ams central station down damrak straat 2 mins turn left toward red light district you will see baba coffee shop turn left 1 min walk on the right book the canal side room it is cool to open up the windows and watch whats going on. do not expect anything fancy very basic rooms. they have an elevator which is rare in amsterdam. the bar downstairs is expensive but really relaxed setting and free wifi only at the back of bar. the breakfast was good too. as far as price could not be beat for location anywhere near this area is expensive. 2 people with breakfast was $100 you will pay $300 and up in this area. i would stay again

Great location, just steps away from all the coffee houses and red light district. breakfast is really decent as well.
Just realise that when you do not get the deluxe room, you will be staying in a room that is less than six feet wide! the beds are head to head, not side to side.
