 "Families + kids stay in Amsterdam"
The hotel is really nice, very well-located in walking distance from the Tropen Museum, NEMO, the Maritime history museum, Waterlooplein and the centre. Breakfast room is a piece of art. The stairs are a bit too steep, and no elevator, so might be difficult with very small kids. Very much recommended!

 "I would not reccomend it"
My single room was so small I asked for another. Although I reviewed another it was shabby tacky instead of chic. Wallpaper coming off of walls. Furniture was mis matched. The heat did not work. Coffee pot did not work. Although I was given a spot heater the two successive rooms I was given (for 20 more euros a night) never did the heat work in any room. Personal were polite depending on the person. Yet I heard groaning and complaints over the weight of my suitcase. No lift and I was one every floor. People were not friendly or engaging. I ended up spending 60 more euro for something slightly less than claustropbic.

 "Hotel Rembrandt"
We stayed there for two night. The location of the hotel is okay, it's further out from it the city area, so it's quieter. The reason from such a low rating is that things in the room is extremely dirty. First, the bed/pillow cover. There is an extremely disgusting body smell from it, it's horrible. The room itself is quite, but that smell is keeping me from falling asleep. The coach and chair are extremely dirty too. We didn't expect to have so much dust on it, and all our clothes and hands are covered in black after touching things. There are signs everywhere in the bathroom telling you not to dump even tissues in it, because you'll clog it. However though, everything inside the bathroom are pretty much clogged to begin with, the sink, the toilet, and the shower. You basically needed to stop the water couple times during the shower. And for whatever reason, everytime you use the bathroom, there is an extremely loud sound coming out from the walls....

Pros: Breakfastroom is awesome! the staff is very friendly and helpful. location is great: close to city, artis zoo and botanical gardens.

Cons: The stairs are very quite steep and narrow. it`s very difficult the go up/down with your suitcase.

Cons: The room was so tiny i could barely fit in my suit-case. also the stairs are quite steep and narrow (however, the lady at the reception kindly volunteered to help me with the suit-case)

Pros: Took a quadruple room,the young chap and the girl in the reception were veryyy kind to help us in guiding us the routes to the nearby tourist places.situated in the heart of the town,it was easy to commute to other places.will recommend it.car park is bit expensive in the range of 30 euro per day.overall excellent!

Pros: Nice breakfast room and quaint selections. nice touch with the espresso coffee machine. helpful reception staff. convenient location in a nice neighborhood w/ a couple good restaurants. metro stop in front was convenient.
Cons: Steep, narrow, curving stairway to room with no lift for luggage. internet services very sporadic and only in reception area, mostly was not available.
