 "Standard"
Went over New Years so completley paid well over the odds for this standard of hotel.
Someone phoned whilst i was checking in and they managed to get a room at a cheaper price then i paid!
The staff are very stern, dont expect any acknowledgement from them!
The room was ok, nice shower and comfortable bed
It does have the best location for where you want to be in Amsterdam

 "Cheap and Central!!"
location was brilliant for the price we paid. We were within walking distance to everything and staff were friendly. Felt safe and shower facilities were clean and towels provided. Lockers were in the room also.

 "Seven days trip to amsterdam"
The location of the hotel is the best thing about one.It is located in the centar of centrum. We had a room with six beds on top(5th) floor. It was too small but it had tv so its ok.Every thing else is pretty much ok....

 "Poor hotel, excellent location"
We stayed only one nigh at the hotel, but the conditions were worser than we expected. Firs of all, the church with bell ringing every 15 minutes from 7am. Rooms were really small, bunk beds had no protection, internet not available in the room, just in lobby. We knew that there'll be no bathroom in the room, but we didn't expected to be just one toilet and one shower per floor, furthermore to get a toilet WITH paper we had to go 2 floors down, because there was none at our and lower floor. About the good ones, location is perfect, close to the center, very close to Amsterdam Centraal, but for that money you can surely find something a lot better (like we did the following day).

 "horrible"
Very small rooms, wifi only in the commun areas, no clean service, broken shower, staff not very kind, the structure was old. The only positive thing is the position: the hotel is central, in a great place!

 "Ok budget option"
Superb location, rooms and facilities looked better then I expected (although tiny). The biggest issue for us was level of cleanliness that could have been way higher. Bathroom is also very, very small, but new and modern.

 "Not bad at all.........."
Really comfy beds. Facilities perfectly adequate. Ensuite power shower will wake you up in the morn. Busy place with residents that staff are very capable to deal with you smoothly & efficiently. Prime location. Just listen out for the church bells in the morn, you'll hear them !

"Bad hotel, poor reception staff, dangerous.."
This hotel has the only thing going for it, that it is close to the Central station. Else, everything is wrong about it. The rooms are extremely small, and the worse thing is they are located on the 5th floor without any lifts!! And then the stairs are so dangerous to navigate that once can easily fall and crack their head when carrying luggage. THe reception staff are also very rude and unhelpful, with the exception of one male of perhaps Indian ethnicity. They also do not keep your luggage even for a few hours which is really strange and problematic!! Also, the hotel is located next to a church which keeps ringing its bells every 15 mins from 5 am onwards-so goodbye to any promise of a good sleep!

 "It was nice"
For short trips is ok and practical, for something longer i would look for some other place :)
Maybe rooms are not so clean and in our room in bathroom is still place for toilet bowl. But from the other side, people who work there are kind and everything around is close to hotel.

"Perfect location and for young people"
We stayed in the hotel for 3 nights, it is next to the red district and less then 5 minutes walk to Dam Square and Central Train Station. We had a room with two bunk beds, a sink and a shower. The room was not very big, but we didn't spend a lot of time there, you could here noise form the outside, but the street was pretty calm. The hotel was very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful with indications. It is perfect for a group of friends, I would go there again.

 "Travel Ho(s)tel"
Travel Ho(s)tel is situated in a very central location (2minutes walking from Dam Square and 5 from the central station). By the way the structure is not so confortable as its position: the cleanliness is shoddy: the bad sheets were full of hair and dust; the room in general was a little bit noisy (but it's ok, we're in Amsterdam and fun it's always well-accepted ;-). Furthermore, if you have "the chance" to sleep in a room situated on the 5th floor, you'll really need a Sherpa to reach it. It looks more like a hostel than a hotel. The guys at the reception were ok.
For a couple of nights only.

 "Great Location"
A very nice, clean but basic hostel, as you would expect for the price so is not a complaint! Right in the centre of Amsterdam, beside the Grasshopper so a perfect base for exploring the touristy part the city.the hostel itself is very nice with friendly staff. The hidden gem with reference to the hostel is the on site barwhich is open most of the evening and cheap compared to the rest of the city

 "liked only location"
We were staying 2 nights in that hostel. I would recommend it only for those who'd like to live near the city centre, cause it's located in the heart of Amsterdam. Room for 4 people was too little and the stairs were very dangerous. And that's it. Nothing special.

 "a cheap sleep"
definitely do take your own slippers, since the rooms seem not to be cleaned for a while. but if you want to stay in the centre of Amsterdam and are willing to compromise, this is the place to be. quite quiet, considering the location and the sort of guests you will encounter there.

"Only good point: the location. But nothing else. Only as a last resort!!!"
+Well located (in the center)-1. Hotel/Room dirty (4 days: they never cleaned the room)3. They charged me more than I was supposed to pay4. Walls thin (didn't sleep the first night)5. No lift, so it was really hard to reach the room6. Bad service: simply don't talk to the personal, except to check in or check out. Conclusion: don't go there!!! Really expensive for a really bad hotel (I went to really old B&B in small towns by the past, half the price or less, and it was much better...)

 "Brilliant Location"
Stayed here for three nights in march.... stayed here before so i would recommend this hotel again away. The location couldn't be better and the staff were nice enough, slight down fall were the showers being hot and cold but for the price we paid, we were more than happy.

 "Travel Hotel - March 2013"
For the price we paid, this hotel ticks all the boxes. As a regular traveller to Amsterdam, i would certainly consider this hotel for my next trip.I stayed in a double with private facilities. This was located on the 5th floor, which has a total of 77 very steep stairs to get to and there is no lift, so its not for the fainthearted! We arrived at the hotel at 10:15 and were able to check in straight away, which was a bonus. The room itself is fairly small, but as it is litetally a place to lay your head and bathe, this didnt pose a problem. The bathroom is just a shower and toilet, again, fine for what you need it for, with the sink located in the main room. There is also a desk, chair and wardrobe. The beds are very comfortable, and the staff were very accomodating in giving me an extra pillow. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the only thing i would say is there is no luggage stirage for when you check out, but we just left our cases at the baggage storage at centraal station which cost 5euro for the day.The location of the hotel is perfect. Right in the middle if all the action, our room overlooked the warmeostraat, which is the main stretch of coffeshops etc, but we were not disturbed by any street noise. The nearest coffeeshop is next door, Dam square 2mins, red light district 2min walk and 5min walk to centraal station. The Kalverstraat shopping area is 5min away. Overall, a great little hotel right in the middle of everything. I will almost certainly return, and iI will look forward to it!

 "1 night stay in Amsterdam"
Brilliant location, the room was tiny with 4 beds in. The shower was good. They wouldn't keep our bags at the reception the day we checked out, so we had to wheel them round all day. Would stay here again because of the location, had a good weekend :)
