How you can get to Hotel Travel
1) From Schiphol Airport:
Every 20 minutes a train runs from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station.
When you arrive at the airport, go to the central hall; there is a big sign
with the train information. The trains to the central station run from 05:40 AM
to 00:30 AM (go to step 2).
2)
From Amsterdam Central Station: From here it's a 5-minute walk to the hotel. Take the
main exit and go straight in the direction of Dam Square onto the Damrak street.
Follow this main street, which you can recognize from the canal boats on your
left and the Victoria hotel on your right-hand side. At the end of the canal
(when you see the Grasshopper building on your left) turn left into de 'Oude
Brugsteeg'. At the next street, at the entrance of the Grasshopper, turn right
into the 'Beursstraat' and you will find the hotel on number 23.

Cons: The hotel itself was okay, but the room was very dirty, there was poo on the walls and mice even running around our room. it was not clean at all. we were only given towels after causing a fuss, there was no room to move in a room, the pictures showed a nice big room, there was 8 of us staying and did not even have room to turn 360 degrees. if any of our group were overweight, they would have struggled to fit inside the room.
Cons: Well, despite the fact the hotel seemed not to be full as there was hardly any guest in the premisses during the 2 days we were there, we were allocated to a room on the 5th floor. that would not be a problem if there was a lift. we had to go up 5 flights of steep stairs with our luggage. nowhere on the website said there was not a lift at the hotel. if i knew there was a chance to be in a room on the 5th floor in a hotel with no lift i would have chosen another one. i cannot say the staff ( specially the blond woman at the desk) were rude, but i cannot say they were nice and friendly either. they answered our questions promptly but showed a slight impatience towards us. the bathroom was not cleaned every day as you expect in a hotel. actually this place is more like a hostel but sells itself as a hotel.
Cons: The stairs!!
Cons: Shower broke in one of the rooms, as hotel is always fully booked there's no alternative rooms for you to be moved too. also there are rats in the hotel, but this seems like the way it is in amsterdam as we also saw a rat in mc donalds and @ the airport too.
Cons: If your on the top floor bring your hiking boots! but then most hotels in dam are like tall.
Cons: Room not equipted with what was mentioned on the web site, phone in room full of brick rubble and not working, paid deposit for tv remote that didi not work the tv, when complained remote was taken back deposit returned when going back to room all tv stations were cut off when complained to staff on desk ( had to wake him up!!!) was told he knew nothing about the tv,room not clean general areas not clean when checking out had to walk around dead mouse on stairs!!!! room on top floor despite requesting a lower floor due to health reasons could not change rooms,
Cons: Room small & sqaushed in, window was broke & was not able to shut
Cons: Overall impression was extremly disappointing. smelt of dampness. when requested iron/iron board was told it was broke. tv in room was bad reception. on arrival of room there was old shoes left in cupboard along with a jumper.
