Hotel V occupies a renovated, early 20th century building in central Amsterdam's trendy 'de Pijp' district. Fashionable boutiques, bars and restaurants aplenty can be found in the hotel's vicinity. The RAI congress centre and the mile long Albert Cuyp market are within a stone throw away. The hotel has excellent tram connections to the city centre or the museum disctrict.
Situated in peaceful surroundings at just a 10-minute ride by tram from the centre, Hotel V offers a perfect location to discover Amsterdam. The colourful city district 'De Pijp' is located nearby, which is known for its numerous beaneries from all corners of the world. In this area you will also find the Albert Cuyp Market, which is one of the liveliest markets in the Netherlands. You can find some good bargains here, which range from vegetables to clothes and fish.
How to reach the Hotel Victorie?1) From Amsterdam Schiphol Airport: Take a train from the airport to the nearby "RAI Station" (8 minutes). Once you are at station RAI take tram nr. 4 direction "Central Station", the only tram there. Tickets can easily be bought inside the tram. Exit after 5 stops (5 minutes) at stop "Victorieplein", the hotel is at number 42.
2) From Amsterdam Central Station: Either take tram number 4 or 25 in front of the station (just pick the one that departs first) and exit at stop "Victorieplein", the hotel is at number 42.

Most hotels in amsterdam are expensive, so i would say you are getting pretty good value at hotel v. i booked a hot deal and paid about $150 cdn/night and the room was quite small (as they all usually are in amsterdam) but it was a very nice room, extremely clean, with a very comfortable bed. there is no elevator and we were on the top floor - but i didn't mind the work out. staff was very friendly, and breakfast was included which was quite good. it is about a 10 minute tram ride from central station, and is on a direct line so it is a very easy trip (buy the 24 or 48 hour tram pass if you're touring around). also - it only takes about 20 minutes to get there from the airport which is nice. i would definitely stay here again.Nothing really bad about this place. room size basically fits the bed, and very little around it but a nice little closet and small bathroom off to the side, but it's what i expected.Anonymous

Helpful staff, good breakfast (included in room price).Extremly narrow and claustophobic entrance which is always locked that you need to use a buzzer to open. very steep spiral staircase making it very inconvenient to go back and forth from the room. no elevators available for luggage transport.Anonymous

I thought that the staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly, and when we arrived before the check in time we were able to get a room quickly. the breakfasts were very good and it was a very relaxed atmosphere.The only thing that i felt could be remedied was that we had to press a buzzer to get into the hotel, and i didnt feel comfortabl;e doing this so often. if the key that was used for the rooms could also be used for the door it would be much more efficient.
