 "Friendly hotel"
Friendly service, my room was basic but everything was clean & worked, quiet as well. Room included kettle so no need to pack travel kettle this time! I do feel some tea & coffee could have been provided with kettle. The location is very peaceful but so near the main museums & concert hall.Breakfast was better than in some hotels I have stayed in with choice of cold meats, cheese, boiled eggs etc, constantly topped up. Fresh fruit was a nice touch, along with fresh flowers on table.

"The staff were really friendly and helpful with directions"
Pros: The staff were really friendly and helpful with directions. the buffet style breakfast was excellent and the dining area for breakfast was pleasant and relaxed.
Cons: The room we stayed in (twin room) was rather small to be a twin room, it was drab and outdated. it needed a good clean/paint/decoration. there was evidence of bug? powder around the edge of the carpet, not very pleasant!! i feel the price was too much for the room we stayed in. our flight was early on our final stay and so we left before breakfast was served - as breakfast was included in the price of the room, it would have been nice to have a take away bad provided for breakfast, since we had paid for it!

"Great location in a very quiet street outside of the city centre but just a..."
Pros: Great location in a very quiet street outside of the city centre but just a short walk through the park to leidsplein which is great at night and during the day. perfect for the museums as it's under 5 mins which helps beat the queues. the hotel has great tramlinks to the centre although we ended up wlaking everywhere as it allowed us to see much more and stop at small cafes/canals...etc. the breakfast at the hotel was simple but filling and the staff were very helful. the room was clean, had a nice shower, comfy beds and was a good size. had a handy fridge too which was a bonus. all in all, for the price, the hotel was lovely.
Cons: Stairs are steep and narrow - fine for us though. could be a problem for elderly/people with very large cases.

"I didn't sleep well but know why"
Pros: I didn't sleep well but know why. decor a little tired but staff very helpful and if you don't to be in the main hub of amsterdam but close enough to enjoy it then this is a very decent hotel.
Cons: The room i was in had a constant noise from the central heating system, but if you can cope with that and the tired decor you can do far worse than this as a budget hotel. just be mindful that the museumplein isn't on the main tram routes for many of the tourist night spots, however it is close to the leidseplein.

 "Served a good breakfast"
Pros: Served a good breakfast.
Cons: Steep, narrow steps to our room. we asked for a lower floor room, yet received the top floor. it was quite an ordeal to climb these steps. also, your confirmation provided us with a "total cost" for the 4 nights of 340 euros; however, the hotel added another 5% to the cost--we feel this is a misrepresentation on your part.

Pros: Lovely family hotel, in great location: quiet and out of the centre but very accessible. basic, but for this price it was extremely good value. staff were very pleasant. great breakfast that didn't finish too early so you could stay in bed longer. beautiful friendly hotel cat.
Cons: Very hot in the top of the hotel so could benefit from more windows. only one separate toilet.
