How to reach the NH Carlton?1) From Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (Go to step 2).
2) From Amsterdam Central Station: You can take tram line 4, 9, 16, 24 or 25 from the square in front of the station and get off at tram stop 'Muntplein'. From there you can walk to the hotel in approximately 3 minutes. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.
How to reach the hotel by car from Schiphol airport: Follow motorway A4 direction Amsterdam. This road joins up automatically with the Amsterdam ring road A10 Follow exit S110 Amsterdam-centrum. At the first set of traffic lights drive straight on until the crossing of the Stadhouderskade where you turn left. At the traffic lights you take a right turn. At the roundabout you continue straight on. At the end of the street the hotel is situated on your left hand side.

We found the hotel that we were moved to very nice!
Unfortunately when we arrived at the nh carlton they had had problems with the "easybook" website so we were not booked in. however they were very apologetic and accommodating and moved us to a very nice hotel.Anonymous

First of all it's really well located, the staff at reception desk were efficient and friendly. the room was of a good size. bed linen was nice aand crisp.The a/c is old and tired couldn't cope. it was too warm in the room. the cleaning wasn't great. the bathroom was fine, however we found sweets, chips, etc. left over under the bed when taking our shoes.dean

Central location, excellent staff, clean rooms with lovely bedlinen.Room was rather small but didn't spend too much time there so wasn't really a problem. some noise from other guests through the night - walls seemed rather thin!MORLEY

LocationRoom was smelly, smoke. we were told the payment for the hotel would be taken out of credit card on arrival, however they were asking for cash payment or with another card. also, we arrived in amsterdam at 10am, we knew we could not check in until 2. they did hold our bags but we didn't get to our room until 3.30. lastly, our room was not charged at the same rate we were told. there was an extra €20 added on.Anonymous

Quite close from city centre, bright and moderm room and helpfull staff.Room and bathroom a bit too small and dusty in some places. also the room has been cleaned only once during our 3 nights stay.Anonymous

The staff were really helpful and friendly. they catered for our requests and the rooms were very clean. when we asked for more coffee in the room etc they were extremely pleasant, nothing seemed too much trouble. the hotel was in a great location, especially if you want some night life in the immediate vacinity. we couldn't have chosen better really.Anonymous
