 "Clean, quiet and pleasant"
We got a spacious room at ground level. Loved the location. Room was very clean and reception desk service minded and pleasant. Only negative was a very busy breakfast where we had to wait for plates and stand in line for 10 minutes to use coffee machine.

 "Very pleasant stay, great location!"
This was a great place to stay with my friend for the two nights we were in Amsterdam. Location is good and staff is approachable, friendly, and very helpful with directions. The hotel was a great deal for the price and I would stay there again if I ever go back to Amsterdam. Highly recommended!

 "Disappointing"
Was given a room in the basement. Holes in the duvet cover, carpet as hard as nails (and as thin!).Receptionists were very friendly, but really for the price I paid, this was a very disappointing hotel.

 "Not the best . . ."
This was probably our sixth visit to this wonderful city but our stay here was not the best. I had booked a superior room, opting for a little more luxury. However, we were shown to a smallish room which was not what I would call superior in any way. In fact, a member of our party who had just booked into an ordinary room and had paid considerably less, had a far better room. Having had time to consider the matter, I went down to reception to air my grievance. To be fair, the receptionist on duty did do everything possible to assist me and assured me that I would get a better room the next day. When asked what the difference was between the rooms, she said it was just the air conditioning. I'm afraid my interpretation of a superior room does not begin and end with air conditioning, it actually means perhaps a bigger room or better equipped. Our room did not even have a bath, whereas our friends' room did. The location of the hotel was not bad; around three minutes' walk to the nearest tram stop.

 "Over Night Stay in Amsterdam"
Stayed at this hotel for one night - the room was clean and the shower-room was modern and clean. Staff in reception are very friendly and helpful. Good location but you need to take a tram or taxi to get to the train station. My only gripe was the bedroom walls are paper thin and I was kept awake half the night with noisy young lads who had been at a concert.

 "Good hotel in great location"
The room I was given was quite small but it had everything to make it a nice stay. The night was very cold but the central heating worked very well. It had also airco in case required. The shower was a bit small but good enough for a night. All amenities present as well. A big place to store the luggage, a good closet for clothes, a big flat screen tv and tea and coffie amenities. The bed was lovely and all was nice and clean. Breakfast is great with lots to chose from at a very good price. All in all, a great stay.

 "snowy break"
When we arrived we were allocated a small twin room when I had asked for a double bedWe changed to a bigger room with a double bed but it had not been cleaned and was not really fit for customersThe heating the first night did not come on until 6.30 and it was cold! They had some problems with the heating. On the plus side the bed was very comfortable

 "Directions"
Better instructions on how to get to the place would be helpful. Best to got either road to the side of Marriot hotel that you canclearly see from just about anywhere on Leidesplein. Helpful an friendly staff, super comfy bed, room small but adequate for a single just sleeping there. Watching TV in your room seemed to be extra. Free PC with internet access by reception was very helpful.

 "Great Unique Property"
The room was perfect, clean and had wonderful roof top views over looking the neighborhood. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very nice. There was plenty of space for us and all of our things. There is a quaint little bar in the hotel which is nice to come home to after a long day strolling and site seeing in the city centre which is only a few steps away.

 "amsterdam"
This hotel was in a great location for the museums and best surrounding amenities such as canal boats and Vondel Park. It was easily accessed from the 197 bus outside the airport. Recommend not to use the train as the bus is cheap, runs every 15 mins and takes you to the best stop for all the hotels. The hotel is clean and tidy although only has one lift which can get busy and the stairs are too steep to use. The room is basic but clean and towels changed each day. The hotel front is draped in scaffolding but no work seemed to be going on. Breakfasts were ordered at 7.50 euros at the hotel and although not amazing good rate and very well organised. The bar staff were very friendly and as English is so well spoken all kinds of advice is given.

 "Amsterdam trip"
Hotel was ok, there was work being carried out to hotel at time of our stay, I would not have been too bothered had I had been told at booking but I felt a little embaressed as I had booked for 14 people and was a little dissapointed as was my party to see the front of the hotel fully covered in blue tarpaulin. Service in hotel was fantastic, staff are very helpful. Rooms are basic but clean. Hotel location is good, not right in centre but only a short walk.

"The location of the hotel was excellent with 4 trams passing nearby"
Pros: The location of the hotel was excellent with 4 trams passing nearby . 3 of these went directly to centraal station and tram tickets can be purchased at the station for 12, 24, 48 and 72 hours. hotel was also central to the rijksmuseum and the pc hoofstraat, a great designer shopping street. the leidseplein is a lively area with bars. hotels and restraunts . it is also possible to walk to the centre of amsterdam from the hotel along a pededtrianised street, that is, apart from the trams which can appear quite quickly!!
Cons: Where, oh where was christmas in this hotel??? no sign of trees, decorations, no lights or candles. very disappointing atmosphere. the room , a superior one as requested, although quiet, clean and comfortable, had little by way of style due to the very basic, functional furniture. ikea meets b and q. the bathroom was clean and tidy but the towels were tired and thin with a hole in one of them. breakfast was available at 7.50 euro each per day and the bacon was cold and the eggs were rubbery and totally unpalatable. i took the boiled egg option the first day and they were fine but the second day. they were cold and runny. there was tinned fruit cocktail althought there was fruit to take away. when i complained about the eggs and bacon the receptionist deducted the cost of 2 breakfasts which was ok.
