Filthy carpets, entire room not cleaned well generally. no maid service during stay. breakfast not great, only white bread, no toaster. a couple of cereals, unappetising sliced meats, and scrambled egg kept warm by candles.
be wary if you are not fit, as the staircases are incredibly steep and you will be carrying your cases up unaided.
this hotel has certainly gone downhill since our last stay. not entirely terrible, but wouldnt go back.FORTE

Hotel was quite clean and location was near the museum area.The breakfast was a bit a disappointment; only bread and eggs, juice and coffee. also there were some loud group of men in our hotel. the room was also quite small.Mattsson

The woman, i think her name was djullet or jullet, was very friendly and nice. internet use was most helpful...The breakfast was passable-could have been a bit more imaginative, but, it was better than being in france.Wright

Great value, very pleasant and helpful staff. the location was good for us because we wanted to be near the centre but far enough away for it to be quiet and peaceful at night. we also did not mind walking a fair distance - trams were readily available also but we only used these when we had our suitcases i.e. on first and last day. the hotel was very clean and the breakfast again good value.Hardly worth mentioning but quite a lot of repairs being done to roads and pathways but most of amsterdam seemed to be 'underconstruction' so it was just that time of year i guess.wood

The breakfast is great, and the bathroom/shower is clean and nice.The first room we got was on the 3rd floor,
the stairs are very steep and difficult, plus there is no elevator.
we changed the room (we requested a double bed), and stayed on the first floor, which was excellent.St Clair
