Very nice and helpfull people. good breakfast in a clean room. quite allright rooms for amsterdam, clean towels every day. new bathroom and furniture. nice place in town, with cafe´s and restaurants around the corner (and albert cuyp marked + tram)
Quite steep stairway, which is normal in amsterdam. room is vacuumcleaned everyday, but not washed completely, like in corners of bathroom; but thats the only negative.Backus

The staff were friendly. it was easy to find.The room was tired, not as clean as it could be. both nights the fire alarm went off - twice on the first night - very loudly waking us up, but for no reason. Charlton

Nice clean room, friendly staff and close to tram links to city. a 20 minute walk from the van gogh museum and heineken brewery was nice too. the internet was fast and reasonably priced (if you buy 10 hours of it anyway!). A smoke alarm went off in the room above us three times over two nights, and the sound was terrifying for my girlfriend, who thought it was a fire alarm. we talked to the staff about it twice and it still happened again. i was very disappointed to see the staff didn't deal with the problem properly as the other guests clearly just smoked two more times. the breakfast, whilst nice - was a bit too simple. i like toasties but i have my limits for four mornings of it. the other options like yoghurt and scrambled egg wern't really very appealing. however, despite the negative comments here, me and my girlfriend for the most part enjoyed our stay at the hotel and we would give it a thumbs up, because the smoke alarm problem probably won't happen to you. The room was tiny but cosy; huge bathtub with very hot water (careful with the hot water!). buffet serve-yourself breakfast was excellent-- extras like granola and yogurt, staff courteous always, and a woman on the desk helped immensely with a train reservation problem. location was steps away from the tram, overlooking a canal. would return again for the cosy atmosphere.The hotel is old, so the stairway was steep and narrow, and not recommended for elderly or lots of luggage. first night a loud group of travelers partied on the floor above, but when mentioned to the hotel next morning, they were quick to offer assistance if the noise bothered us again. The room was clean and had all the facilities stated. the staff were friendly, helpful and informative. no complaints about the room or staff both were very pleasantThe room was on the lowest floor, the staircase going down to it was rickerty, the stairs were narrow and quite lip biting when carrying a large suitcase down them. the door to the outside used to bang whenever anybody went through it, this was unpleasant especially early in the morning. the breakfast was ok but it would of been nice to be able to toast a piece of bread and have a decent cup of coffee.Good

The staff is great. rooms clean with only little issues like lamps working, missing tv channel selector--which wouldn't have been a problem other than the fact the hotel is so very expensive. seems like for room size, location etc. everything should have been perfect for so much money--higher than paris certainly, maybe nyc overall. The downstairs somewhat noisy with foot traffic but not too bad. and wifi access is rather expensive--that should be clearer in advertising. Anonymous

Nice staffNice staff though they will get you for more money if you choose to not read the lines about that hotel. was charged an extra 45 euro b/c they booked me for a single room. they had parking which you had to pay 20 euro a day for and they had to keep your keys so they could get it out of a crowded pit. the breakfast was only good for coffee and the rooms smelled like constant smoke, thank you marajuana! salsbury
