Cons: We thought we had an en suite, but this was not the case. it was not clear during the booking process. our room was very small.

"Very good beds, good public transportations"
Pros: Very good beds, good public transportations. nice restaurants in the area, a new part of amsterdam, but anyway close to the centre.
friendly employees.
Cons: We had a middle class room, no idea how the other rooms are.
it feels like the rooms are a bit "spartanic art", concrete floors and our room had the toilet in the middle of the room,(that is nice to know in advance depence you are travelling with) we discovered later there was a sliding door you could put between walls but still!

"Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly"
Pros: Most of the staff were very helpful and friendly. the location was excellent. minutes by tram to the heart of amsterdam.
Cons: Some of the rooms are in a basement with all kinds if piping hanging from the low ceiling. our friends room was a narrow corridor with a bed squessed on the end. not what the pictured showed. luckily we were able to get them moved or we would have gone to another hotel.

Pros: Very convenient to cruise ship and centraal station.
Cons: Old, dirty rooms, shared bathroom; you get what you pay for, i suppose, considering prices of rooms in ams.

"A unique hotel in a unique building"
Pros: A unique hotel in a unique building. a different kind of experience.
Cons: On arrival the hotel did not have my booking on their system and then tried to get me to pay double as they only had 4-star rooms left. it took an hour to get them to honour the price i agreed to on the web site, not good after hours of travelling.

 "Nice inside, very modern"
Pros: Nice inside, very modern
Cons: Booked 2 seperate 3 star rooms on 2 different occasions. arrived at hotel and handed over both reservation numbers to be told they only had 1 room for me and all they could do was provide a 5 star room for all 4 of us (2couples) to stay in for the first night and they could supply the 2 rooms for the second night. second day went to reception to change over our rooms to be told again no 2 3star rooms and only a 4star to share this time. now this was 2 couples staying and privacy was a big issue as the bathrooms were open in the 4 star room and in the 5star room it was an 8 person bed to share. fair enough they gave us the 5star room for a 3star price but wouldnt lower the 4star room. needless to say we wont be back to this hotel. another point for the size of this hotel they have one very little reception with 1 person in it so everytie we went to reception we ended up stading in a queue for around 10 miinutes before getting seen to. very unhapppy customers.

Food & beverage:

The hotel's restaurant is open from 7 AM until 1 AM. The menu reflects the 1 to 5 stars concept of the hotel. It offers dishes from sweetbread to fries. High-quality products are used for all dishes, coming from organic farmers in the area or quality suppliers such as Menno (baguette, pain de campagne), Holtkamp (croquettes and biscuits) and Lindenhoff (meat, imported cheeses). The hotel makes their own cakes, jams and mayonnaise, according to traditional recipes. On the menu are products of the season as well as 'forgotten vegetables' such as parsnip and black roots.

The food is pure in its quality and in the way it is presented. The menu consists mainly of French and Italian cuisine, but dishes from the rest of Europe are also available. From 5pm there is a wide range of pinchos on the bar. Here the hotel offers a large selection of beers, including beers from the local brewery and an exclusive wine list in several price categories. All wines can be ordered by the glass.
