The hotel is easy accessible by Amsterdam's public transport system. Because of the nearby tram stops, it easy to reach all parts of Amsterdam and its tourist attractions.
How to reach the Marnix Hotel City Centre?2) From Amsterdam Central Station: You can take tram 1, 2 or 5 from the square in front of the station to tram stop 'Leidseplein'. You can also take tram 17 to tram stop 'Elandsgracht'. From the tram stop you can walk to the hotel in approximately 5 minutes. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running normaly: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM. From tram stop 'Leidseplein' you walk straigt on and go right at the first corner, that is already the Marnixstreet, then you walk to the hotel at no. 382. From tram stop 'Elandsgracht', after getting off of the tram you walk back to the big street, that is already the Marnixstreet, go to the right, then you walk to the hotel at no. 382.

The location is fantastic. if this hostel; i would not class this as a hotel; given a facelift i think it would be a fantastic place to stay.
I was just very surprised that no consideration was made to improve the exterior look of everthing; ie the dark stair well the decor in general was tatty basin the room was blocked and the drainage in the shower was also not good.Anonymous

Staying in 8 bad dormitory the price was applicable. good location near leidsplein. helpful staff. breakfast was ok for a hostel.Small bathroom where there was always flood. the room smelled with marshes. Vergis

Very good value for money, especially if you book well in advance. i got my bed in 4-bed dorm room + breakfast for 20 euroes a night. location is excellent - 2 minutes away from leidseplein.- the ventilation in the room was extremely poor. with four people sleeping in a very small room we had to keep the door open all night to try and keep a fresh air current.
- contrary to what is advertised on the easytobook.com site, the wireless internet is only available at the reception/breakfast area and not in the rooms. also, i was asked to leave the reception at midnight while i was checking my email because they were "closing."Anonymous
