Located in the Jordaan, this apartment is ideal for large groups or families looking for luxury accommodation in the centre of the city.

Dating from 1790, this elegant apartment was once home to Multatuli, one of the Netherlands' most famous authors. Today it is fully renovated and beautifully decorated with timeless furnishings and attention to detail throughout. The luxury apartment is the top half of the house, accessed through its own private entrance and up two flights of stairs. The spacious living area features high ceilings with wooden beams and large windows that allow in a great deal of natural light. Comfortably seating 8 adults, the living room features a large sofa, armchairs, a coffee table, i-pod dock, large flatscreen television and dvd player. It opens onto a modern, fully equipped kitchen complete with a large dining table.

One flight up, the master bedroom is also exceptionally spacious and quiet and features a double bed and ensuite bathroom. The second bedroom has a beautiful, original wooden floor and large windows and is furnished with two single beds (or a kingsize double). In the attic the third bedroom is situated underneath the traditional steeped roof. This bedroom has the possibility to sleep up to 4 guests on two single beds and two additional single sofa beds which can be made up on request. The second bathroom is modern and has a shower, basin and wc.

The Multatuli Luxury Apartment is located in a beautiful area of the northern Jordaan, on a small side street between the Brouwersgracht canal (voted the most beautiful street in Amsterdam) and the Haarlemmerstraat (voted best shopping street in Holland 2012). The area features a huge range of renowned restaurants and charming cafes, boutique clothing stores, speciality food shops, cool bars and an art-house cinema. It is one of the best parts of Amsterdam for simply walking the streets and taking in the atmosphere. Just around the corner is the famous weekly organic farmers market and flea market at the Noordermarkt. The quirky boutiques and cafes of the Nine Streets shopping district and the Jordaan are within easy walking distance, as are Anne Frank House, Westerkerk, Dam Square, the Royal Palace, the Red Light District and the green spaces of Westerpark and Vondelpark. There is a supermarket within 2 minutes walk. Bicycles can be rented in the same street and there are tram stops within close proximity of the apartment. Centraal Station is 7 minutes walk away. Trains to/from the airport take 15 minutes and leave frequently. A taxi to/from the airport takes 25-30 minutes.
