Madame Tussaud Wax Museum Amsterdam

The original Madame Tussauds (note no apostrophe) Wax Museum is located in London, England. Fortunately for travelers in Amsterdam, this bustling city is home to one of the four branches. Although the museum is smaller than the wax museum in London, it still contains plenty of entertainment. The Madame Tussauds Wax Museum is housed in a huge building located in the center of the city, Dam Square. The architecture is itself something to marvel. The museum pays homage to dozens and dozens of actors, singers, politicians, religious leaders, and other famous persons. The intricately designed wax sculptures draw tourists from around the world that are looking to experience a different kind of museum. While the museum may appear to be strictly entertainment, it also provides a brief historical perspective for most of the wax figures, and gives the history of the museum in itself. Madame Tussauds Wax Museum also has a unique feature; it provides the history of Amsterdam, especially the Golden Age, for interested patrons. Visitors can have their picture taken (or take photos of their own) with the detailed and realistic looking sculptures. Upon entering the vicinity, a free photo is taken of the visitor with Arnold Schwarzenegger.
