The hotel is close to many attractions such as Dam Square, and the Red Light District, both 2 km away. Amsterdam Schiphol Airport is 19 kilometers away. There is a railway station at the airport with direct trains running to Amsterdam Central Station every 15 minutes. Amsterdam also has a comprehensive bus, tram and metro network.
How to reach the hotel? How to reach the hotel?
1) From Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2).

A taxi from Schiphol Airport to the hotel will cost approximately EUR 45.00.

2) From Amsterdam Central Station: You can take bus 35 or 91 from the square in front of the station to 'Mosplein' (takes about 10 minutes). From there you can walk to the hotel in approximately 4 minutes. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

From Amsterdam Central Station you can also take the ferry to cross the 'IJ' (free of charge and runs 24-hours a day) and walk from there to the hotel.

A taxi from Amsterdam Central Station to the hotel will cost approximately EUR 10.00.

Shuttle bus useful and handy to get to central station, but only 15 walk to ferry anyway
Cups not changed daily only swilled would like to have seen cups changed as i had a chipped one all weekend

I had the worst wine i've ever tasted there. it should be illegal to sell that crap. couldn't even drink half the glass.

The room was very clean , spacious and bright. i really liked the comlipentary tolitries and all the other little extras! the hotel bar had anice atmosphere and the barman was very friendly, also happy hour meant that we got 50% off our drinks! overall the hotel was a pleasure to stay in.
The location was only a problem when the shuttle bus was full or running late however in my experience the dutch people are very laid back and don't rush so i wasn't suprised when this applied to the shuttle bus service.

It is in a quiet location. breakfast was well catered for in pleasant surroundings.
Confusion with shuttle bus left us waiting at nh barbizon for nearly an hour to be picked up. smoking in areas where food is served.

The location and name of the hotel were totally misleading. central station just sounds the the central train station. not helpful at all.

Very nice hotel, very clean, staff friendly and helpfull. food in the bar was also very nice due to the location the hotel is very peaceful as well, not like some hotels that i have stayed in in the centre of the city
Location is not great. but the shuttle bus and the short walk and ferry ride are not too bad at all.

The room was great, the extra's excellent. first hotel in europe that provided a shaver and tooth brush. cross harbour ferry nearby, so great for cycling around.
Bathroom was a little worn and a little far from all the attractions. had shuttle service, but at peak hours a bus is faster.

A very clean hotel, situated about a 10 minute walk from the free ferry service, in a residential area. there are a couple of local shops/bars close by, but we didnt try them. execellent breakfast, rooms very clean, hotel reception/lounges very roomy and well decorated. no problems with the free bus service. hotel staff were very good. hotel is shared by staff from northwest airline, again no problems here. if you want a hotel close to the nighlife/city then this is not for you. if you want a base to relax in after a long day in the town then this is the place.
