Description
NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky, a landmark dating back to 1865, is situated in the middle of the Dam in the lively heart of the characteristic old centre of Amsterdam. The Anne Frank House, the Red Light District (de Wallen), the Van Gogh Museum and the Heineken Beer Brewery are all in the immediate vicinity and are most certainly worthwhile to visit during your stay.

NH Grand Krasnapolsky Hotel Amsterdam is located on Dam Square, in the heart of Amsterdam’s characteristic old centre. Trend-setting shopping streets are just around the corner just as cultural tours de force such as the Royal Palace, "Beurs van Berlage" and the "Nieuwe Kerk".

Amsterdam Central Station is seven minutes away by foot, and it is only a half-hour journey from there to Schiphol Airport.

A shuttle bus to Schiphol is at your disposal, departing every 30 minutes from 5 o’clock in the morning to 8 o’clock in the evening.

The Krasnapolsky Hotel Amsterdam also has its own landing dock for boats.

1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)

2) From CENTRAL STATION: You dont have take the tram, you can walk to the hotel +/- 2 min. the trams in Amsterdam are running normaly from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM

Great location, friendly staff, very quiet and clean
When you arrive and you are paying by cash they ask for 100 euros per night as a deposit which isnt mentioned in the hotel detail and comes as quite a shock!!although im not sure this applies if u use a credit card??also on the first day we were in bed late afternoon and some random man came walking into our room unannounced!

I couldn't be more positive. the location was brilliant, the room was spotless (and huge!) ... the linen beautiful, the view fabulous - out onto a livley street, the staff super friendly and accommodating, the room service pricey but lovely. i almost did not book this hotel because of the previous negative reviews ... but boy am i glad i did! i couldn't have asked for better ... and yet better still, because we were checking out on a sunday we had the option of having the room until 5pm.

The hotel is conveniently located on the dam.
It was noisy as our room faced the dam where revelers hung out late into the night. we were disappointed with the staff as we asked for them to set up a ride to the airport with the free shuttle and they ordered a 50 euro taxi instead. we should have been more specific, but learned too late.

Got an upgrade to a beautiful suite. however this was after me and my wife were giving a single room, which was in practial as you can imagine, then a nice double room which was really filthy. a phone call later we were moved. however after we were in the third room it was worth it.

Great location,great to store luggage while waiting to check in
Booked shuttle bus to airport but bus was 30 minutes late. had requested smoking room and rang to confirm this but had to battle to get one on arrival.
