"Disappointed for the money"

Booked this as part of a Queen's Day trip with friends and because I booked late I went for this hotel due to the location to other friend's accomodation in the city. That said, for over £160 pn I expected a lot more. Service was nothing special at all and the room, especially the bathroom, was DEFINITELY not 5 star. There a lot better hotels in the area for half the price but you need to book earlier than me!

"Great hotel in a great location"

Loved staying at the Krasnapolsky. Slept well, no noise, curtains kept the light out. I didn't like the style of the rooms (matter of taste) but it was spacious and good quality. Bathroom was spacious with separate shower. We had breakfast too and it was in the wintergarden which is beautiful. The food was good and you good have wine aswell. All in all I had a great stay.

We had a great stay at this hotel, the staff can't do enough for you, they are so polite and helpful, the rooms are a little old fashioned but they are big in size and spacious, we would definatly stay here again!!

"Excellent Hotel"

The Hotels Location is fantastic, right in Dam Square. The Hotel itself is beautiful , very Grand . Some of the Hotel bedrooms have been renovated and we had the privelidge of staying in one of those., it was absolutly beautiful , very modern, the bed was huge and very comfortable. On a Sunday they have a late checkout time of 5pm which is great as you can pop back to the hotel to freshen up before the flight home. I would definetley recommend this hotel .

"Demolition Awards 2012"

This was the first time that the World Demolition Awards had been held at this hotel (Previous years saw it at the Hotel Okura) and the function was excellent. The hotel is a great location but a little pricey for rooms and breakfast. Try to get a room in the new party of the hotel as the old rooms are tired and in need of a refurb.Also I would book room only as £20.00 each for breakfast is a bit much!

The stay was lovely, service at reception excellent, just abit disappointed about not having ingredients replaced after the first night for coffee & tea making.

"A good central hotel."

A good central hotel. However our room was not ready on arrival. we got a family room which was spacious. The room was a little worn and could have done with redecoration. Not really 5 star. Hotel is extremely expensive to eat in. you would be better off not having breakfast at 28 euro each. There are plenty of cafes close by to eat in. Apart from that we had a very nice stay.

"Weekend at the Kras"

Just about everything was OK. The big problem came from a bunch of noisy young men on a Stag weekend and the fact we had a a room with an interconnecting door. The noise which carrried through the two doors meant we did not have a good nights sleep all weekend

"Girly weekend break"

I was so pleased with this hotel. I requested a newly renovated room and that is exactly what i got - a really cool contemporary room. Cleanliness was A* sheets and towels replaced daily. Location was great for us with the Bulldog coffee shop 5 minutes in one direction and museums 5 minutes in the other direction & of course Dam Square on the doorstep. Staff here are all very helpful. I think this hotel is great value - If i return to Amsterdam this is definitely where i would stay and also recommend to friends

"Earlier time it surely has been a 5 stars hotel"

Floors and walls seem not be renovated since 20 to 30 years.The room service was first class.Service at the reception was not so well: Most of the employees are only speaking Dutch and English ( for example: in Prague even the chambermaids in the 4 and 5 stars hotels are able to speak three languages ).Our request to repair the door of the toilet, which could not be closed, and one bedside light, which didn't work, was not be answered.

"The Best 5-star Hotel in center of Amsterdam"

Excellent hotel, located in the center, the ability to access all sites and museums within walking distance.The hotel staff is excellent, every request answered courteously and quickly.Price a little expensive but worth every euro I'm sure I'll be back to this hotel. It is highly recommended.

Pros: Being given an apartment which was amazing,
Cons: Having to pay £200 deposit to cover the mini bar in the room but upon checking we didn't have a mini bar so the charge ( which was returned in cash ) was never required.

Cons: We did not think that the hotel deserved a five star rating. i filled out a form at the hotel detailing our issues with it,:
1. the sink stopped was broken
2. the heating was very low, we requested help and the staff were very prompt but could not fix it. 3. there was a computer in the foyer that had a sign reading "for the use of hotel guests", when i went to check my e mails i was swiftly told not to use it and was sent to a business room where i would have to enter my credit card details before using the computer. as i only needed it for two minutes i didn't bother but the manner of the this staff member was impolite. 5. we received two meagre tea bags in our room, one each, we thought this very parsimonious. overall the hotel is impersonal with a get quick turnaround attitude. we will not be returning and felt that the four star hotel we stayed in some nights previous in the same city was far superior.

"A lovely bright and clean room which was easily accessible as was the hotel..."

Pros: A lovely bright and clean room which was easily accessible as was the hotel to the main sights of amsterdam.
Cons: On the first evening there was a constant noise which we discovered early on the fri morning to be a drip into the bathroom from the room above. the towels and floor were soaking as was the ceiling area. we reported this to reception but received no further feedback.
also noise from the room above disturbed us. at times it seemed that there was an elephant in the room above.

Pros: Looks great from the outside, nice lobby too. great location.
Cons: Told us room wasn't ready, came back in an hour, got the room key, someone else was in there. changed rooms again, into one without any shampoo etc and hairs in the bath.

be advised if you book by debit card and don't take a credit card with you you'll be asked to pay a €100 deposit on your debit card, which you'll get back in cash the next day.

when you get past the lobby and onto the stairs etc, you'll likely wonder how the hotel got 5 stars as it's basically travel lodge with a sugar coated shell.

Great hotel in a great location
