The "Tropenmuseum" has a variety of wonderful exhibitions - from ancient art to anthropology, geology to photography, and science to natural history - throughout the year. The "Soeterijn" Theatre offers a wide range of multicultural programmes. NH Tropen borders the "Oosterpark" which offers various recreational and sports facilities. The hotel will provide you with addresses in the neighbourhood for swimming and fitness pursuits.
How to reach the hotel?1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)
2) From CENTRAL STATION: You can take bus: 22 from the square in front of the station to the Eerste van swindenstraat. From there you can walk to the hotel +/- 1 min. the trams in Amsterdam are running normaly from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM

The staff were very helpful.Our room was broken into by another guest in hotel. however, the staff were very helpful in refunding our room rate and moving us to a more secure hotel. make sure you lock your valuables in safe at all times. something we have learnt from this experience and glad we always do it.Guliz Balsari

Lovely clean & modern hotel. great views across the city. we had a great stay. not in the very centre of amsterdam but has excellent transport links outside the hotel (tram & bus) & canal bus terminal 3 minutes walk. major sites are walkable (if you are fit!). would stay here again.Anonymous

Please get back to me, i have emailed you twice, 23rd & 24th july, would just like to let you know that i was very disappointed about the hotel that i booked for my son and his girlfriend. although the hotel itself was very pleasant, they were charged 15 euro for parking. but the main problem to me was the fact that they were actually charged 17 euro each for breakfast.
i had spent hours on the internet looking for a nice hotel which included breakfast, there were some beautiful 5 star hotels at 116 euro for the night but they didn't include breakfast, so i opted for a 3 star which included breakfast, as my son and his girlfriend had spent 4 days marching in holland i figured breakfast would be important to them.
anyway i would appriciate a refund as the service i had paid for was not honoured, the staff at the hotel were adamant that breakfast was not included in the price, that made it a very expensive 3 star hotel which i certainly would not have booked for room only.
as you can see my confirmation does say breakfast included.
i hope you can sort this out for me, and appreciate my dilema, when i spent so long trying to choose the right hotel, and infact chose the worong one in the end, surely all the staff had to do was look at my booking, my son was not in the mood to argue with them, also he would not be convinced that i had made the correct booking. well i certainly had as you can see.

The totally unexpected view from room 1008. that was a great surprise! the room was well furnished and very comfortable. the helpfulness of the bar staff in checking out the evening meal menu because my wife has to have gluten free diet. as they could not guarantee the content of the meals we were escorted by a member of staff across the road (with umbrellas) to 'the museum' restaurant where we found what we needed. the reception desk staff were friendly, welcoming and helpful at all times. the location is excellent, with good public transport around the city. our stay was a very happy experience. thank you.The bacon at breakfast was usually overcooked, but this was a minor matter. there was plenty else to eat!Ryan Stiltner
