This charming hotel is located in a quiet and very trendy area with several world famous museums, amongst which: Van Gogh, The National Museum (Rembrandt) and the Municipal Museum). The exciting city centre (Leidse square) and canal rides are within walking distance. You can find restaurants, theatres, the casino, cafés, bars, disco’s and cinemas in the vicinity and shopping streets are also within walking distance.
The hotel is also very close to the Concertgebouw which is famous for its acoustics. The Vondelpark is one minute away and the Leidseplein with its famous cafe's, restaurants and music venues (Paradiso, Melkweg) is at five minutes walking distance. But if you feel like staying close to home for a drink or a bite to eat, you will find just around the corner plenty of cafe's and restaurants.
How to reach the Omega Hotel?By car, from Schiphol Airport: Follow the directions for Amsterdam. From the A10 'Ring Amsterdam' take exit S108, turn right and follow the road. Turn right at the Citroen garage and immediately left at the traffic lights. At the small roundabout take the second road to the right. At the fourth traffic light turn left.
By train, from Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to the below step).
By tram, from Amsterdam Central Station: You can take tram 2 or 16 from the station to tram stop 'Jacob Obrechtstraat'. You can also take tram 3, 5, 12 or 20 to tram stop 'Concertgebouw'. From there you can walk to the hotel in approximately 2 minutes. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

3 teenagers chatting and smoking just under my window at 4:00 am.

Most of the staff were pleasant.The room had too many furniture and there was hardly any space to walk round. a double bed rather than 2 single beds would have been ideal for that space.JACK

Great location. away from the busy centre and very close to the lovely parks. The room we had was very small for a double. on closer inspection it was a single bed that had a double mattress on top. some wooden boards were used to stop droop on the mattress sides where there was overhang. odd though. it also felt expensive but that's probably in part because of the weak £, the fact it was pride weekend (who knew!) and all the extras such as city tax and credit card charges (how else could i have booked though to avoid this?) not so much a 'hot deal' for us but i guess if we had a better room then it would have been great.Anonymous

I enjoyed the nice breakfast, and the building itself and the area where the hotel is situated is also nice. it's close to all the best museums, and vondelpark, and the city centre is very easily accessible by public transport.My room was a bit small, and i had to stand on my bed to open the window. the churchbell (quite loud)rings in every 15 minutes during the day, and in every hour during the night, which is a bit annoying when you want to sleep.

Hotel staff was really nicve and helpful. they have helped me with my pc connection, provided relevant explanation on soghtseeing and even helped to book a restaurat by phone which of course was much apprecciated. the room with yard window was nice, bright, warm. the only problem is that airconditioners are not in all rooms, so when it was +32 outside it was a bit hot during a day time in the roomAnonymous

I enjoyed the quietness of the neighbourhood. the staff were friendly and very helpful. the wireless internet service was very fast and free which was a refreshing change. the hotel is located close to the museum district.The bathroom is very small. i found the bed a little too soft.Anonymous
