A very friendly and cheerful welcome. lovely and warm place to stay in the winter - clean, comfortable, spacious room. although centrally situated the room was very quiet. outstanding level of service. would recommend this hotel to any of the groups listed below except young singles.Although the food was very good, the portions were tiny for the price we paid.Anonymous

A super hotel - fresh and modern but retaining significant elements of original narrow houses which form part of the fabric of the building. our room on the 3rd floor was built in the attic of one such house - with its exposed beams but with all the facsilities you would expect from a hotel of this quality.
location was good - central but quiet, close to the red light district - 2 mins walk to dam square, 20 mins to rijksmuseum, 10-15 to central station.Anonymous

Great location within walking distance of major attractions in amsterdam. friendly and helpful staff.Not really a 5-star hotel - no swimming pool and rooms were

- we were upgraded so the room we had was reletively sufficient
- the gym facility was good- the sauna was not in use

I would have liked to be ab;e to get a drink at the bar on the sunday night. i appreciate it was after normal bar hours but i was a resident and couldn't even get a bottle of wine to take to my room even though two 'bar staff' were still sat at the bar! they suggested that i had to ring room service once i was back in my room. ideally i would have liked to be able to be served the wine by the night porter and sat in the bar for a while.
