 "Disappointing"
Room was tiny, bathroom smelled musty because it had no ventilation system - I really didn't feel like I wanted to shower in there. Room felt grimy and dusty. One of the bed's legs was broken so it was propped up on a pile of books so it couldn't be moved or else the bed would collapse to the floor. One day the bed was made simply by throwing the duvet messily over the bed. Mosquito problem! I didn't feel like I could go to my room and relax; not comfortable. Price is way to high for what you get. Although the location is very good.

 "not bad for the price"
Overall not bad for the price. Great location - pretty much in the city center, but nice and quiet area. Helpful personal. Room needs good renovation, but clean. The only minus for me was more than modest breakfast (to say the least!).

 "Perfect location, average hotel"
The hotel is right in the central, couple of minutes from everything. The staff is very friendly, but they don't seem to know much about Amsterdam. Room cleaning, bed covers, shampoo, hair dryer was non existent.

"Deserves a better rating than it has"
It's not the ritz by any means, it's in need of a little tlc but for it's price (especially considering the location) it's great value for money. Yes there are a lot of stairs but its Amsterdam and that's part of the experience! The staff are lovely and you'd be hard pushed to find a better location, its very peaceful even though its in the heart of the city.

 "Pleasant Suprise"
Was a bit wary at the start as we managed to get it for £60, for 3 night inc Breakfast. but it was perfect! Was ideal location - 10min walk from Dam square and Leidseplein. The staff were so helpful and friendly, giving us directions and ringing taxis for us at 5am in the morning! It faces onto a canal so great view and it is very quite so can ensure a good nights sleep. Highly Recommend!!!!

 "Cheap and Cheerful"
We weren't looking for anything too fancy because of our budget but this little hotel was perfect for what we paid. Good location. Great customer service. Great value for money! The room was kept clean

"Perfect location in the heart of amsterdam on a beautiful quiet canal"
Pros: Perfect location in the heart of amsterdam on a beautiful quiet canal.
Cons: All hotels in amsterdam are over priced and very poor value for money. £90 gets you a dirty small room with paper thin walls in amsterdam... who says the uk is expensive!!

"Its cheap and close to town"
Pros: Its cheap and close to town. they are only positive things about this dive!
Cons: Room only serviced once on a 4 day visit. no towels on arrival. no soap or shower gel in bathroom. have to leave keys at reception everytime you leave. charged an incorrect price on arrival. would only stay again due to low price.

"Stayed in feb 09, location is excellent!"
Pros: Stayed in feb 09, location is excellent!
Cons: Stayed in feb 09, the rooms arn't up to much, maybe if they were considrably cheaper then you could say they were value for money. bit of a dodgy smell in the recpetion area. rooms are very very basic.

"Once you find it you realise how close to "everything" you are and just out..."
Pros: Once you find it you realise how close to "everything" you are and just out of the way enough down a quite road from rembrandtsquare. for the people who complained so much about the stairs at the hotel? i stayed in the top floor at the top most room and i got over them, for holland they're they're not bad and to be quite expected.
Cons: Bit hard to find the first time you look for it.
brekfast isn't worth the 7,50 when they're so many other cafe's/stores/restaurants everywhere around you.
