How to reach the Renaissance Hotel? How to reach the Renaissance Hotel?
1) From Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2).

2) From Amsterdam Central Station: You don't have to take the tram, you can walk to the hotel in approximately 5 minutes. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

The bed was very comfortable
We arrived at 3pm, waited ages to be served then found that the room was not ready. we were told to go away and they would phone us when it was ready. i asked to leave the cases and was told "they won't fit in a safety deposit box". they took the cases eventually. the room was nice but everything is charged. no tea or coffee facilities. everything comes from the mini bar at highly inflated prices. "if it moves for more than 30 seconds it goes on the bill" says the notice. they did leave two wrinkly old apples for us! stock up at the station shops and bring drinks etc back. it's 65% cheaper!

Beautiful hotel, great location, excellent staff
Only complaint would be the cost of additional services eg internet, movies and breakfast. waaaay to over priced for any five star hotel i've ever stayed at.

Very good location clsoe to centre. clean and tidy room with good facilities ibcluding an ironing board.
The advertised use of club room facilities for drinks and breakfast was very misleading - closed at 5:30 friday the day we checked in. re-opened monday morning the day we checked out. "free" mini bar was poor, a small red and whilke wine, two beers, some water and soft drinks and was not restocked. breakfast on the saturday and sunday could only be described as shambolic.

Centrally located
Poor service, room cleaned only when requested. i stayed club level at 2* service, no refill of the mini bar for 4 days, room cleaned only twice, always cold room, no turn down service, i was very unhappy with my stay at thia hotel

All staff were very polite and courteous. the super-king bed was a joy.
Check in time of 3pm was later than hoped. the fact that the room was not ready until 4pm was a disappointment.

I have stayed in several 5* hotels in several countries. although i enjoyed my stay, i would not give this hotel or staff a 5* rating. the room and facilities were not that good.

The only thing i liked about this hotel was the location of hotel and cleaniness of hotel.
I don't understand how this hotel got its 5 star status, more like 3/4 star. no mention on website or through email correspondence about 50 euros deposit per night. reception staff extremely rude.

Very helpful and friendly staff. moved us to a less noisy room on request.
Ongoing renevations meant for a noisy day and midday naps were out of the question. you basically had to vacate the room between 07h00 and 17h00 if you wanted peace and quiete.

Not much due to not being able to use my room during the day.
They had major construction going on so it was so loud from 9 to 5 that you could no be in your room. jack hammering etc..most everyone was complaining. i was charged about $350 usa dollars a night there - total rip off, as hotel should have been closed during this type of renovations.

We have stayed at the renaissance hotel in amsterdam twice and have always been extremely satisfied with the rooms and service. we will definitely be back!
