How to reach the Singel Hotel?2) From Amsterdam Central Station: You don't need to take a tram as you can easily walk to the hotel from the train station in approximately 5 minutes. When you exit the train station, you cross the station square and turn right at the 'Prins Hendrikkade'. After 200 meters you turn left at the Singel canal. You will reach the Singel Hotel in 200 meters. The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

The singel hotel has a wonderful location on the central station end of the singel canal and the view of the street and its canal from the 3rd floor room we stayed in was magnificent.
the hotel staff were very friendly and helpful during our stay and the overall room and hotel facilities were more than adequate.
taking into consideration we also got the room at a highly reduced rate then i have to say all things considered that the value for money was excellent and our overall stay at the 'singel' was very satisfactory.Anonymous

Staff very helpful, speaking excellent english. free internet and pay tv. good value. good location, within walking distance (about 1/2 mile) of central train station.
A little hard to find, especially at night. not visible from street until you are right infront of hotel. streets in area are not well marked. best landmark is the singel canal, which i nearly fell into trying to find the hotel at about 10pm at night. singel street (more of a sidewalk than a street) parallels the singel canal which is directly infront of the hotel. it is very easy to get lost in this part of town, especially at night. be careful to note landmarks and follow maps when tourning.Yi

Location is great. staff are courteous and professional. would recommend the hotel for mature travellers, business travellers, and couples as well as young travellers. At my first breakfast, i found that the cheese tray had been prepared a little too far in advance or had been left uncovered. so all of the slices of normally wonderful dutch cheese were dried out around the edges. the next day's offering were fresher. the bread and buns were fresh and delicious both days of my stay.mcnamara

Excellent satff who were very helpful indeedRooms were exceptionally small and as a luxury room this was not the case. the pillows were stained and the bed itself had seem better days. the shower room was very tiny indeed even for amsterdamGil

Friendly staff. good breakfast. fresh towels everyday and plenty of hot water.Looking at hotel prices on your and other websites and comparing them with prices in paris and berlin, cities i have visited quite a few times, i am forced to the inclusion that amsterdam prices are too high. for this reason i won't be in a hurry to go back to the city even although it is a wonderful place. hotels in central berlin/paris offer better value for money.Anonymous

The staff could not have been more friendly or helpful, the room was clean and comfortable and the central location was wonderful. in addition the view overlooking the canal (especially with the cattery on the boat opposite!) was relaxing and entertaining. we really enjoyed our stay.Anonymous
