Swissôtel Amsterdam is located in the heart of the historic city centre, at Dam Square and only 7 minutes walking distance from Amsterdam Central Station. The hotel is also located nearby the Royal Palace (Koninklijk Paleis), the 'Kalverstraat' shopping street, the 'Magna Plaza' shopping centre and Madame Tussauds. Many other tourist attractions are also in the direct vicinity of the hotel, like the canal tours, the Anne Frank House, the Rembrandt House and the Amsterdam Historic Museum.
How to reach the Swissotel?1)From Schiphol Airport: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the airport to Amsterdam Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM. A one way ticket is about €3,60 (go to step 2).
2) From Amsterdam Central Station: Central Station is about 7 minutes walking distance from the hotel but you can also take the tram until the 1st tram stop (line 4, 16, 24, 25). The trams in Amsterdam are normally running from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

The location is excellent & very central. the staff were very friendly & helpful.Not really a negative experience, but the house keeper, knocked on our door at 9am on a saturday morning wanting to clean the room. with it been a weekend they should keep housing keeping to a later, more suitable timeAnonymous

I would recommend this hotel for its very friendly atmosphere and efficiency, the staff couldn't do enough for us.the location for central amsterdam was excellent.Msterdam was excellent.

Central location, very close to dam square. clear rooms and clear bathrooms.We needed more daylight in the rooms. the other building was so close to windows so we couldnt see daylight much. also a no balcony in rooms, and windows cannot be opened widely. Fraser

The room was clean and the beds very comfortable. it is located right off dam square which is a must for anyone who wants to get right in the middle of it. there was noise from outside most of the time, but the windows really helped to damp it down.The view from he window was a wall with purple netting on it and the smell from outside was awful whenever you opened the window. it would have been nice to be informed about the city tax they make you pay on checkout, its not very much but it waould still have been nice to be told, its about 5 - 10% of the total cost of your stay.Anonymous

I was so impressed with this hotel that i have put a very positive review on tripadvisor. the staff were incredible. the hotel was quite expensive for the standard of rooms but the rooms were good.location excellent.
