"Fabulous hotel!"

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights - it was wonderful. We were very lucky to be upgraded to a suite. The suite was amazing, absolutely enormous which is unheard of in Amsterdam :) I'm not sure what the general rooms were like but guessing they would have been a lot smaller. The room was incredibly clean and the front desk employees were so helpful with everything. Fabulous location, we walked everywhere from our hotel! Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amsterdam

"Hotel"

Great hotel, great value for money and excellent service. Can't wait till my next trip to Amsterdam going to use this hotel again. The rooms are clean well maintained and you get wee treats at night on your bed for when you come inn.

"Nice hotel but room was somewhat noisy"

A very nice hotel in a perfect location with friendly staff.The only problem was my room was at the rear of the hotel with a shopping street fast food outlets opposite so it was somewhat noisy at times

"Excellent service, extremely comfortable and very central"

My boyfriend and I had a fantastic time in Amsterdam, made perfect by this excellent hotel. You go from the comfort of your hotel room right onto the busy Dam Square. The rooms are very soundproof so you aren't disturbed by the city life. The staff are extremely friendly and have a great sense of humour! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to all family and friends.

"Nice"

First of all the hotel is centrally located. It is on the main street downtown. The red light district is within walking distance, the shopping square is within walking distance, the wax museum is a few hundred meters down the street. You can walk to the Anne Frank museum. Across the street is a couple of restraunts and bars. You really don't need to use the train system unless you are going far or not into walking everywhere. The hotel itself is niece on the inside, and the ladies at the desk were very helpful and pretty. There is a fitness room inside the hotel as well as a business center that also have snacks available while you surf the net. The rooms are nice and the bed is comfy and quiet. The drawback is the bathroom is small only enough for 1 person. For me I don't care for size of the bathroom, I care about the bed, cleanines, and the environment inside the hotel. There is free wifi inside the rooms, but once you step outside the room the signal is lost. Overall the hotel is pretty nice and quiet and the staff is nice and pleasant. The only con I have for this hotel is the parking issue. About half a block away is a parkhause but the price a night is too expensive. The hotel do a have a service which is less expensive than using the parkhause, but you will not have easy access to your vehicle as they park them outside the city center. this is no fault of the hotel it is more of how the city is built, If I could recommend that the hotel establish a loading and unloading zone for it's guest as it take up to 15 mins for the people to come pick the vehicle up.I stayed in Amsterdam plenty of times before in fact it is my fav country and I would recommend this hotel to anyone and I will stay here again when I visit next year.

"perfect place to stay"

My partner and i recenctly stayed at ths hotel for a couple of days,check in was quick and easy and both the receptionists on duty offerd us a cool towel and asked if we needed maps to get around. The room was average size but had everything you needed including an iron and ironing board,trouser press,hairdryer and a coffee machine. We have stayed in alot of hotels over the years but the beds and pillows in this hotel are amazing,everytime i sat on the bed i just wanted to climb in and chill,so i`ll defo be booking this hotel when i return as the location is great and you can walk from the station in 10mins.

"Expected more"

Spent a couple of nights here back in December 2011, had stayed in Amsterdam before but this time had decided I would splash out a bit more than usual on a hotel. First of all the location was great, right beside Dam Square. The room was nice and spacious however the view from the window was of another window that looked in on a department store of some kind, in other words non-existent. The bed was the most unpleasant I have ever come across out of anywhere I've stayed, in fact it was two small beds pushed together with a ridge all the way down the middle which made it impossible to get comfortable. When I complained the following day I was given another room with a better bed although not before having to demonstrate to the duty manager in some detail exactly why I was unhappy with the bed. Having said that they did leave some complementary drinks in the replacement room and a nice hand written note. On the plus side the TV channel selection was great and there was a small outside balcony for smokers on each floor as well which was a great place to relax especially at night looking out and listening to the sounds of the city. On top of everything else I would advise anyone booking through here to thoroughly read the confirmation e-mail before they commit to staying as I received a bit of a nasty shock when i got the bill as the room rate was significantly higher than what was advertised on the web site. Overall I would say not a bad place, great location but ridiculously overpriced. Peace x x

"beatiful hotel with great location"

we stayed with my family for 6 night,in the 3rd floor. it was a realxing and enjoyable time for all of us. the hotel is in the middle of every thing. rooms was very clean and the services was very goog. the only negative things was the noice from the street at night

"Stay in Amsterdam Swissotel"

Amsterdam Swissotel is located right in Dam Square!Excellent location for exploring Amsterdam. Tram stations are just in front and behind the hotel. Ten minute to Central Train Station.Swissotel service staff are very polite and friendly and answer all enquiries!They are also ever ready to give advice and directions!Great service! Keep it up!However, price of the hotel is a little steep, most probably due to the excellent location that it is situated.

"Great hotel"

This must be one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at, only a short walk from Centraal Station. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, couldn't be faulted. The room was a good size and spotlessly clean, great service by the house staff. The location of the hotel is superb, right in the centre and we found all the areas we wanted to visit were easily accessed and within walking distance. Look forward to staying there again.

"My Birthday Treat"

We had a lovely stay at Swissotel.I have been to many hotels in Europe and America and I would to say that the staff were the very best we have encountered on our holidays.Nothing was too much for them and they were attentive to our every need.The room was a delight very spacious and very comfortable and the fridge was an added bonus.The only downfall was the breakfast .It was only warm and the fresh fruit was empty on both days the continental was fine but I like eggs and bacon.It could not have been a better location right in the heart of Amsterdam

"On arrival the reception staff member was so helpful, patient and friendly"

Pros: On arrival the reception staff member was so helpful, patient and friendly. when we checked out 3 days later, she remembered checking us in. that made us feel special. every member of staff we came in contact with was equally as cordial and polite. we received help and advise whenever we asked for it. the room was very clean, large and just the correct temperature(some hotels appear to be stuck on incredibly hot) and the complimentary water and apples were gratefully accepted. i will definitely be recommending your hotel to friends and i will stay there again.
Cons: On arrival in our room, there was a slight smell of lingering sick/vomit immediately on entering the room by the bathroom. but it was no longer present after 24 hours there. on our last day, there appeared to be renovations happening in the hotel building somewhere which started around 8am.

Pros: We had a fantastic time at this hotel, we had stayed there 10 years ago and was a little worried that the hotel may not have been to the same standard. we need not have worried, check in was very efficient even though we arrived at 11:00am and did not expect to up allocated our room until 2:00 pm. we was allocated our room straight away and was upgraded to a junior suite with an excellent view of dam square and the christmas lights. we had a wonderful time and the reception staff at the hotel were very friendly and informative. we opted for a business rate that inclued buffet breakfast which proved be excellent value for money.
we travelled as a mature couple to enjoy a stress free, quiet christmas and were definately not disappointed. we would use the hotel again and hope to vist again soon.
Cons: The only negatives were that we had to ask for our toiletries to be replaced and the room was a little dusty. breakfast could have been hotter. drinks and mini bar prices on the high side. some rooms can be noisy due to tram line that runs outside the hotel.
