pro's: locationcon's: everything else.Budget room was sub standard. cracks everywhere. interior gives a worn/tired impression. only one shared shower+toilet for the entire building. Double bed was in fact 2 beds shoved together. Paper thin walls. Last night we were 'upgraded' to an economy room. Bed consisted of a wooden plank with a very thin mattress on top. I wouldn't call it a bed. Cramped. At least it had en suite but no extractor fan. Staff is friendly though.Avoid room 307 and 27.

"Review of Quentin Hotel Amsterdam"
We are experienced travellers and understand what to expect for money paid in prime locations like Amsterdam. However the Quentin fell below expectation:We were on the 4th floor with very steep and narrow stairs but the lift was out of action for almost all of our 4 day stay. When wanting to shower in the morning there was often no water at all coming out of the shower and when it finally did the temperature fluctuated wildly. The space to eat the continental breakfast was woefully small with many having to stand up or go without and a scrum around the small area used to house the food and drink.

"Great hotel"
Great location - perfectly within walking distance of the plaza and shops. Very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were adequate but bare-bones, no frills, which was fine for us but if someone were expecting more it might be an issue. Beds were comfortable. Continental breakfast was good, but breakfast room was in lobby, so a little small and crowded if you went at prime time (0800-1000) but going earlier or later would have been fine. We very much enjoyed our stay.

the hotel is pretty basic ideally situated near leidespleine bars cafe`s. rooms ok but shower going hot to cold early morning when everyone is getting in the shower.we stayed 4th floor the lift was working so no problem there.the stairs into the hotel are pretty steep anyone with walking problems would have trouble.but overall it`s ok.

"convenient location"
When we arrrived at the hotel and got the key to our room, there was someone already in it. We were given an alternative room on the ground floor but it was beside the lift, and it was very noisy, the lift seemed to be going all the time, it was also very hot in the room even though the heating wasn't on. The next morning we told the staff and requested another room, they did give us another room which was nicer and cooler . Breakfast was nice and ample, the location was great.

"Very good value for money"
The hotel is situated in a very good location, very near to Leidseplein.Very good value for money. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay I few days in Amsterdam without spending too much. I only stayed in the very small room on the ground-floor so my review is only relevant for this room. Service was very friendly each time I needed something.

The office hotel was very nice .Outside and inside the decoration were very pleasants. Our little economic bedroom is comfortable : no noisy, aggod heating,a good breakfast.BUT:1) wediscovered a laeking behind the WC;after 2 days it smelt VERY bad .The third day booking we told this at the office.2)There is no a small ground towel and the ground was slippery because the water!3)the dining room is TOO SMALL: only 4 tables (3 for one table ) for 40 bedrooms !4) THE WORST : A mouse has nibble our smocked sausage (closed in a bag) a present for France ) wich was in our open luggage : we have see this in FranceAt last this hotel is very medium

"This hotel is in a good location, near to the centre of amsterdam but far..."
Pros: This hotel is in a good location, near to the centre of amsterdam but far away enough to avoid late night and early morning noise.
Cons: The rooms were to small, no tea or coffee in the room or even a kettle. we had to request to change rooms as the first room was advertised as a double but the bed was not a double and the window was bolted shut! second room was a small improvement but still not great.

"Great location"
Pros: Great location
Cons: Our room was way too small, had trouble fitting both us and our luggage in the room.
"The hotel is 4 floors, no lift, carrying heavey bags to the top floor is..."
Pros: The hotel is 4 floors, no lift, carrying heavey bags to the top floor is very difficult as the stairs are very narrow. the bed and the towel is clean. we were on the 3rd floor. it was quiet. there wasn't any hot water on the last day. called the reception couple of times, waiting for the whole morning, still no hot water. i had to take a cold water shower... the hotel night shift reception was always talking on her phone, chatting. but it's not really a problem. the day time staff were very friendly. cleaner was very friendly too. location is good as we walked everywhere, even to china town, the red light district. it took about 25 to 30mins to walk to the train station. tram number 1 from the hotel to the train station costed 2.75euro each person one way.
Cons: The hotel is 4 floors, no lift, carrying heavey bags to the top floor is very difficult as the stairs are very narrow. no tea cup/bags for guests in the hotel room. tv controller costs more. no hot water in the morning if you have your shower later than 10am.
