The Toren, a Classic, Romantic, Design Hotel is situated on the Keizersgracht in the centre of Amsterdam. Overlooked by the famous Westertoren, it is located in a district that offers plenty of beautiful and interesting places to see and discover. The convivial and picturesque Jordaan district lies a stone’s throw away, as does the impressive Anne Frank Huis. Within less than a 5-minute walk lie the Dam square with its Royal Palace, the National Monument, shopping mall Magna Plaza, the Bijenkorf department store, the Berlage Exchange, and, a little further away, the infamous Red Light district. There are plenty of trams that will take you in no time to the Concertgebouw, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and Amsterdam’s most luxurious shopping street: P.C. Hooftstraat.
How to reach the Boutique Hotel The Toren?How to reach the hotel from the airport:
by taxi: Costs for a single fare are EURO 35.00. Costs from Central Station are about EURO 9.00.
By car: Follow the ring around Amsterdam. Get off at exit number S105. Follow the signs "Centrum". At a certain moment you will drive on the "Rozengracht", which is a busy street with a tram. You should pass the Westerchurch and directly after this church go Left on to the Keizersgracht. You will find the hotel on the 2nd block and you can recognize us by the green sunshades above the door.
By public transport:
1) From SCHIPHOL AIRPORT: Every 20 minutes there is a train running from the Airport to Central Station. When you arrive at the airport and you reach the central hall there is a big sign with the train information. The trains to the Central station are running from 05:40 AM to 00:30 AM (go to step 2)
2) From CENTRAL STATION: You can take tram: 4 , 24 and 25 from the square in front of the station to the Dam. From there you can walk to the hotel +/- 6 min. You can also take tram nrs. 13,17 or 20 to stop 'Westerkerk'. The trams in Amsterdam are running normaly from: 07:00 AM to 01:00 AM.

Beautiful hotel. we had booked a deluxe room and although the room was on the small side we were told we had been given a bigger room! but perhaps this was a large room by amsterdam standards. the staff were extremely friendly, courteous and helpful. we arrived at the hotel at 10am and they stored our bags for us until our room was ready, which meant we could explore the city unhindered. the hotel provided a map for us and pointed out places of interested, we used this map for the entire holiday.We had requested a canal view, which we had but i think the rooms with garden view would have been quieter, although saying that it wasnt very noisy, it's just i am used to complete quiet.16 Sep 09

Helpful and very stressfree staff, taxis to airport on time, great comfortable bedHotel is a paint job and things are cheap. coffee maker slow room located in another hotel 7 doors away (hampton) away from bar/reception, tram line explanation very poor meant that we had to walk far to get there. bathroom taps in bath were near to arm rest.. liable to burn.10 Aug 09
The toren's staff were exceptional. i honestly couldn't have asked for nicer people. they answered my questions, made recommendations, and just made me feel so welcome. i loved the hotel. my stay was way above and beyond what i expected and i would definitely stay there again should i return to amsterdam. i highly recommend the toren.03 Aug 09

my room was small - but i was told about this and it was reflected in the room rate. friendly staff, chic and stylish hotel. i would recommend this hotel.A very small point only was that the mini bar was rather basic in the contents - but it was ok, and hardly a big problem!29 Jun 09

Quite impressed with the hotel on arrival, but once booked in we was taken 50 yards down the street to an annex of the main hotel, which wasen't what we expected, 13 Feb 09
Staff always welcoming and helpful. bar area v nice, warm.Would be great to have access to newspapers at breakfast time! sometimes even when i order the financial times the night before, it does not arrive in time the next morning.
