Booked to stay for three nights, but left after seeing the room and the dirty stair carpet. What a dump!!!!!! I went ten minutes out of the centre, on the tram and found a very nice hotel called the Golden Tulip. It cost a fraction more, but was a proper international standard hotel.

At your arrival you're expected to pay up in front, which might make you suspicious, with due cause, because you won't get good value here. The hotel is located on top of an all-night club, playing loud music all through the night (till 5AM), occasionally interrupted by a loud blast from a horn, audible at three blocks distance, deafening when blown right beneath you. Surprisingly, the owners claim none of the residents ever complain about any of this, however, there usually isn't anyone to complain to, so I guess that helps (the person behind the counter claims not to speak the language you speak; address him in English and he'll say he speaks Dutch and vice versa). If you feel all of this is not enough reason to stay away from this miserable excuse of a hotel, take into account that the rooms are not isolated (our window couldn't even properly close), are not being cleaned after each stay, the TV doesn't work and the promised WIFI charges you 18€/day. Dropping off your luggage prior to checking in is also a bad idea as you're expected to leave it behind in the widely accessible breakfast room which is never during the day locked.

It was very nice the people who work there are so kind , the only thing that botherd me was the breakfast could have been better but overal iets was à Nice stay i would return .

Pros: Great location, helpful friendly staff felt secure basic but good value for money adequate simple bfast despite several negative comments this hotel was fine really we would return and use again
Cons: Shower was v bad no slope or draining capability and leaked due to enclosure not sealed. shower head broken light in room a bit ropey!! bfast pretty limited. pretty poor coffee at bfast - if they could offer better coffee this would have enhanced the experience so much

Pros: Great location, hotel staff are helpful
Cons: We were firstly allocated a room that had a balcony that neighbouring buildings could also access and there was no lock on our room door!!!! we asked the receptionist about this and were informed that someone had broken into the room a couple of days ago and broken the lock and they hadn't 'gotten around' to replacing it yet!! we demanded to be moved to another room and were done so which was then fine.
we also paid a ridiculous amount of money (122 euro's a night) when this place looks just like a hostel. definetly not value for money, but ok if you need something last minute (we booked 2 weeks in advance and still paid that kind of money)
