For the price you can't ask for much better. perfectly located in the best side of amsterdam's heart i would recommend staying here if you want a place to stay whilst you explore the city.ando

Friendly and helpful staff, great location near leidseplein, romantic view of the leidsegacht.
Steep, narrow stairs to get to rooms; noisy if in front facing the canal, boring bread at breakfast. only shower on the first floor.Anonymous

Free internet was good and they had some good discount cards for local attrections available. plus you could get into your room 24 hours a day-no curfew.The toilet was a bit dirty/smellyhughes

Arrived at hotel on may 29th 2009 with best friend for a sightseeing weekend of amsterdam. we just wanted somewhere cheap and central - and thats what we got.
the room was very clean and we had our own sink. we knew that we would be sharing a bathroom with others and admitidly, the toilet was extra small (suitable for a 7 year old)
fantastic time away and the titus was all we needed. however be careful on those stairs he he he ha ha.Toilet and stairs(very steep).Anonymous

Location excellent. had a window that overlooked a canal. staff generally helpful and pleasant. breakfast was repetitive over our 4 days, but sufficient. developed strange addiction to 'animal planet' channel during relaxation in room. free internet access on computer terminal on main floor.Building old, not all that well kept up. one shower (bizarre converted closet) for the whole hotel. tiniest toilet rooms possible, no ventilation, odorous common hallways as a result. on our floor, flushing the toilet made water spurt out of the tiny sink... difficult to avoid getting hit! saw a mouse in breakfast room on two occasions.Anonymous

The staff were extremly helpful and answered all of our questions and queries excellently. the location was greatThe cleanliness of the room wasnt with stains on the blanket and the toilet didnt have a clean feel to it and when the toilet was flushed the drain in the sink would spit out water!Anonymous

Breakfast was good, very timely service and pleasant staff1) i have never had to pay a deposit for towels before. 2)on 2 of the 3 nights, we never received towels until 20:00hrs because the staff said "the hotel is so busy, we do not have any dry towels". 3) we spent the whole of one night with no electricity in our room.Anonymous

Excellent location, helpful and friendly staff. good breakfast for the price.Noisy outside, and a lot of smoking in the hotel despite signs stating this would be fined. this did not seem to be enforced, and the smell of smoke from other rooms was very strong.
