It was right next to the leidseplein which is the main tourist place near the museums.
The stairs are rather steep if you have any walking difficulties. Anonymous

As far as hostels go, it was clean and the rooms were a reasonable size, each with a tv!They had a problem with noise after 7pm. surely shouldn't take group bookings or have dorms if you want everyone to be silent!Barnes

The staff were very friendly and helpful. the room was cleaned each day. the breakfast was more than enough. free internet. It was quite noisy but then any hotel in amsterdam would be, just take a pair of earplugs and enjoy a great stay. Anonymous

It was really a very good venue for what we wanted. we just wanted somewhere cheapish, convenient, but safe and it was all of these! very easy to get to, very central, helpful staff, would have no issues with recommending it. only one shower but bizarrely, despite the hotel being full, i didn't have to wait for it once, so it really wasn't a problem. breakfast simple but absolutely fine.The walls are quite thin, so on the two nights when we happened to be next door to a stag do, it was a bit noisy. Positive - great location, friendly and helpful staff, nice downstairs area.
shower area was clean, and was the best part of the room.Negative - room wasn't dirty, but certainly wasn't very clean either. room was very shabby around the edges, bed was very hard, and the pillow (yes, pillow, not plural!) was very lumpy.
radiator did not work.
had to pay a 5-euro deposit for an extra pillow, and the same amount for a travel adapter plug. key and tv remote deposit was 10 euro.
toilet was shared with the entire floor of the hotel, and it was a) very dirty and smelly, and b) situated in a tiny room, with no hand-washing facilities.
the stairs were so steep that they were almost vertical, and the stairway area was untidy, with holes in the wall, etc.
room was impossibly tiny. i wasn't expecting a mansion, but come on...!
room was also quite expensive, at 75-euro per night (although it was a weekend).zerrouki

The room was clean and the location good for the festival we were attending. close to things that young people might be interested in.Titus is really more of a hostel than a hotel. the furniture (besides the beds) was made from plywood of all things. steep stairs with no elevator. brusca
