 "Holidays"
The first room presented was a catatroph (room next to the street, no fesh air, any airconditionning). The reception found a solution and has offered us an another room. The breakfast service was not so good. The staff wasn't very pleasant

 "Tulip Inn Amesterdam"
The hotel was nice but i booked a superior room and the room was just a large twin with two single beds pushed together there was also a mouse in our room. Would'nt go back. The staff were friendly and helpful.

 "Perfect little find!"
The tulip inn was just what we were looking for! Perfect location, & I mean perfect! Round the corner from Dam Square, Central train station, red light district, shops bars restaurants. No noise in the evening. Has an elevator We were in room 406, right in the roof, lovely view of the church, the clock chimmed @ 8am so was a lovely wake up call. Comfy, clean, great place to get your head down for the night as that's all you need! Will definitely return to this hotel

 "Review"
Booking and arriving to check in went very smooth! The hotel is in a great location and the room was very large for a European room. Unfortunately, our room was on the street and it was very noisy all night long...it was very difficult to sleep. We also had an unpleasant odor in the room, especially at night from the "coffee shop" only a couple doors away.

 "Location good and bad!"
Great location because close to most major sights! Not so good if a light sleeper - Red Light District = late night boozing out in streets and marijuana smell throughout night coming in from outside... but that's only a minor issue really - room was small but very comfortable :-) staff were great!

 "Nice"
Great location, but hard to sleep because of the Cathedral clock which made noise every hour. The room was nice, but strangely shaped - long and narrow - like a tram. Also you need to clarify, whether breakfast is included or not. It may be different.

 "Mouse Fest"
Suitable hotel , spacious rooms and but worth the money we paid. Had to move rooms as there were mice in the hotel room coming out from the wardrobe. Not impressed by some of the staff attitude, found them lazy and disconcerning.

 "Weekend in Amsterdam"
The hotel was very central, but our room backed on to of Amsterdam busy street, so the noise of the street kept my partner up, she had to bed with personal headphone buds plugged into her ears.It would have be better if the room had better sound proofing from the outside and also the rooms above us. Also my GF had asked for the remote for the air con, when we finally got the air con working the water dripped from the unit. So this could not be used because of water. Not forgetting the double bed had two single quilts on the bed, the centre of the bed had a gap, that you can feel cold air ;-) Otherthan the room were clean but basic, not cheap for £418 for 3 night

 "Expensive for what it is."
We booked a Superior Double Room , nice but not worth the 370 Euro we paid. We could not check in until gone 3pm. The room was clean with a large King size bed. Noisy at night as our room backed on to a busy street and we were there over a weekend, this didn't bother us too much though. Overall, a clean and comfortable room, just not worth the price we paid. Location is what you pay for though and for that you cannot go wrong it is a 5 min walk from the train station.

 "Service"
1. The level of lighting in the room was very low. Should be brighter.2. The cleaner did not replenish the tea, milk etc. At one time the empty milk containers were put back in the box! This may be the fault of the lighting.

"Clean and comfy but noisy area"
We spent three nights here, the staff friendly and helpful and have no complaints apart from the hotel's location. We liked the hotel building for it'squirkiness and interesting architecture. Our room was clean, comfy and big enough considering we were only in there to sleep which was difficult at times because of the noise from outside and the pub across the alleywy. There is no air conditioning although a large fan was provided which we kept on all night as we were at the top of the building and it was very stuffy. The hotel is very central, off Damrak and en route to the red-light district so lots of tourists and litter around. If the lift is broken it would be very difficult fo negotiate the narrow staircases so we don't recommend the hotel for young families or the infirm. We probably wouldn't stay there again mid-summer but wouldn't dismiss it during quieter months.

 "Location... Location"
Well first off, the tulip inn we have stayed at every time we have visited amsterdam. This time... The tulip inn changed their location due to going bankrupt bt didnt inform us of the location change. We loved it befor bt this time it was located at the enterence of the red light district. If your going to party only, great hotel, if your going to visit & would like a cleaner experience do not stay here. I will say the staff was great! Very nice in accomadating us. It is a great location, but not for a family. I loved where they were located befor, because you were able to have both, party & family quit time.

 "The heart of Amsterdam"
The hotel is conveniently located very close to the central train station and much of the hub of excitement. It was very convenient to get around and the hotel was quite good. My only complaint is that they charge for Internet and then it didn't work, which they refunded. There's an Internet cafe a couple of doors down. All in all, I would recommend the hotel.

"Good location but not on a Main Street"
We enjoyed the 3 days we stayed there. The breakfast wasn't great for the price a nd they could have a better concierge.

 "Lovely hotel"
Good service and adequate rooms in a great location. Steep stairs if you happen to stay when the lift is out of order (as it was while I was there) but a great nights sleep and good breakfast.

Great location hotel. Level of cleanliness was good and didn't experience problems in other reviews. The room was of a good 3 star standard. The staff were very friendly. Felt very safe. Going back soon!

 "Expected more"
The location was not bad although major roadworks were in progress. For the price of the room the size was rediculous. The staff was helpful but not always too knowledgable. Bed was too old and soft. TV was not working properly. Toilet leaked water and bathroom was flooded next morning. Breakfast extra and 5% city tax where everyone else either includes it in the rate or it is 1%????

 "Consternation"
I booked this hotel on line through Easytobook on Saturday March 31st at 5.50am.I received confirmation of this booking (1432691-a). The room was advertised at 75 Euros per night. Accordingly, I booked for two nights. When I got to the hotel they charged 120.75Euro for the first night and 78.75 Euros for the second. When I queried the anomaly I was told the price was higher than what was advertised because it was Easter. I was tired and concerned that at this late time I would not be able to secure alternative accommodation…. so I accepted the substantially higher fee for the first night, but I expressed my consternation and disappointment.I understand that a cheaper Hotel does not carry the same expectations as one in a higher price bracket, but for 120 Euros this is what I encountered... (you can check Room 018 if you do not find the list below credible):There was black mould on the bathroom ceilingThere was a wad of discoloured chewing gum stuck on the back of the room's main door handle. The courtyard was littered with old cigarette buttsThere was no hot water in the hand basinThe phone was dirty and the button to connect to reception was not functioning. In the end, I had to walk down to the main lobby to request anything. The bed and sheets however, were clean and my wake-up call was efficiently handled. In total, this was a very disappointing stay. I am not use to booking a facility on line for a stated price and then have a receptionist insist that the room can be re-rated.If you query this anomaly, I still have the receipts. This approach is neither honest nor honourable. The situation was exacerbated by the poor quality of the facilities. I would not recommend this hotel to anybody and I sincerely hope that the management directly addresses its policies regarding misrepresentation of the cost of its services on line.Yours sincerely,Professor Dr Welby Ings
