I spent one week in this Hotel.. Great organization, little rooms but nice.. Bike service is wonderful, it is perfect to see the city in the real Dutch way.Only one problem.. Rooms are really noisy.. wall are so thin and you can hear all what your neighbours are saying.. Staff very helpful for every question...

Good location (near Albert Cuypstraat market), excellent breakfast, free internet and really nice staff. It is an excellent trade-off to the price."Negative" point : the stairs are really steep and even more quite frightening

The room was a hike up a steep set of stairs but the room was clean and pretty big relatively speaking. Hotel staff was great, gave some good local advice. And, they have ample secure bike storage.

It is not for elder people, I must say.But for young travelers is more than perfect. Hotel is VERY clean (for those complaining about bathrooms...C'mon, as long as they are clean it's fine).Breakfast was lovely.Maybe rooms are small, but beds are very comfortable.And stairs can be a real challenge.Overall...I would definitively stay there again if I go back to Amsterdam. You get MORE than what you pay for.

The service was friendly & efficient. Our room was what we expected, basic, and good value. Breakfast was included & was good. We hired bikes from the hotel, this worked really well. The location for us was central enough, safe & close to a variety of restaurants. We could walk to museums.The stairs are very steep, this could be an issue for some people although it wasn't for us.

Pros: Hotel staff was excellent. when i checked in the hotel, i lost a screw of my glasses. the staff kindly looked for it with me for a while.
Cons: The room was very cold because of the thin window and weak heater. i caught a cold.

Pros: The hotel is easy to find and only a few minutes walk from a tram stop. the staff were very helpful and even opened for us after their closing time because our flight was delayed. the breakfast is hearty and consists of a variety of dutch specialties (ontbytkoek, beschuit)as well as yoghurt, cornflakes, muesli, bread, cheese and salami. to drink there was fruit juice, tea and coffee. overall this is a hotel i could easily recommend to anyone going to amsterdam.

Pros: We stayed at van ostade bicycle hotel for one week and thoroughly enjoyed our time. the staff were extremely helpful and knowledgeable about all things amsterdam and the hotel location was perfectly situated in a quiet residential area 15 minutes walk from the van gogh museum and 25 minutes walk from central amsterdam. we were able to stay in the apartment across the street, which was perfect for the week we were in amsterdam. an added bonus was the very nice (and free) breakfast the hotel provides in the morning.

Pros: Breakfast basic but nice.
Cons: Very basic. no room service to our bed or a gerneral tidy threw out our stay. no kettle in room. quoted £168 on site, yet hotel charged us 210 euros cash to stay. rubbish map on arrival.

the shared facilities on each floor were kept clean and tidy and well-stocked.
Cons: The room was very small, although when you are out all day seeing the sights this isn't much of a drawback.
the staircase is extremely steep and quite dangerous, especially if you have heavy suitcases and are on one of the upper floors!
sound travels into the rooms from other rooms and outside easily so the noise level is completely dependant on the other guests.

Pros: Very good location in a nice area. you can print the tickets for the most important museums in amsterdam and avoind the long queues. breakfast is good.
Cons: 80€ for a twin bedroom with shower and toilets on the floor, seem to me a bit too much. as we entered the room, we found two dirty used glasses standing next to the water-tap. cleaning service should be improved.
