Well situted for use of central station. room + bathroom was always clean and fresh towel was provided daily.staff were always polite and helpful. breakfast is from 7 - 10am with a reasonable selection of continental style breakfast menu to get your day started. 
It didn't bother us too much but there are two pubs situted right next door, with opening hours to 3 or 4 in the morning at the weekends, which may disturb those wishing to have a peaceful nights sleep.McGinn

This is our second time staying at the vijaya and i really cant complain! you will find it hard to find a cheaper hotel in the heart of the red light district with its own en-suit and breakie thrown in. our room had even been refurbed so we were extra impressed. the room is cleaned/towels changed everyday. i would say this hotel is perfect for couples/singles wanting to chill in the dam with no frills. we will be returning in october. michelle&rik xBadea

Good breakfast, helpful staff.Hard to find, even with map. if you have heavy luggage, it does not have an elevator. i had to climb up two stories of very narrow stairs.Reti

It's pretty good considering that it's only a 1 star hotel.it's quite clean and you get fresh towels every day. the breakfast is also fine. the location is excellent for young party peolple, who wants to feel the beat of the city. however, i wouldn't recommend it for elderly people or families, or those wishing a romantic hideout.Rooms and bathrooms are very small.Anonymous

The staff are quite friendly and the hotel is in an excellent location right beside the red light area.I would not class this place as a hotel at all. it is very run down and dirty looking and first impressions are not good however on closer inspection i found the rooms to be quite clean, fresh towls and bed linen. this place is not for everyone but if you are just looking for somewhere to lay your head for the night in an excellent location then this place should suit you. What a fabulous little hotel! was the most inexpensive hotel we have ever stayed in but still wonderful.
basic and small but clean and had everything you need. the staff were particularly helpful and pleasant. breakfast like the room was basic, but buffet style and plenty for everyone. hotel perfectly positioned. would definitely stay at the vijaya if we return to amsterdam.Anonymous
