Vijaya Hotel Amsterdam    

Basic good sized rooms that were very, very clean. Great location, and very friendly staff with a 24 hour maned reception. Only fault really was the pillows. Overall I would recommend this hotel for any stag party. Good value for the money

Father & son football trip (46y / 8y). We Spent 3 Nights. Close to everything (central st, metro, shopping etc.). Small room but ok. Service and cleanlines fine. Breakfast - We have taste better :-) henrik, denmark

Rooms were dirty, beds were dirty, The breakfirst was lousy.. I Will mor recoment this hotel for any one.. The forstå Night there was running Water Down trough The cealing.. It is a nasty hotel dó not go there

Hotel Vijaya is located near the vibrant part of Amsterdam-The Red Light District. The Centraal Station and Dam Square are just walking distance from the hotel. The hotel has small but clean rooms. Hot and cold water worked well during our stay. We were worried about some reviews I read before our stay about rats but fortunately, we didn't experience that. The hotel staff are helpful and friendly.

we stay at this hotel because its cheap (cheap for Amsterdam) and its right in the centre, its not the Plaza so dont expect it. yes it has steep stairs. the staff are friendly helpfull. breakfast is ok

Vijaya has great value, it's cheap and cosy and in a central location.The staff were friendly and helpful, they pointed out major attractions to help me make the most of my trip. Sometimes, it would get noisy outside late at night, but that can't be faulted on the hotel, you are sleeping in the RLD after all - but it doesn't really bother you much.I would recommend this to any and all kinds of travelers.

For the purpose of this review the reader must understand that the hotel provides a basic stay in what is a very busy and built up area of the red light district of Amsterdam.Therefore it is only fair to review the hotel based on what you get for your money. In this case you get a basic clean and tidy room with breakfast included in the price.Staff are very helpful and polite, the breakfast is adequate (continental) and the location is what it is...right in the middle of the red light district...(your choice).As we had a top floor room, be aware that the stairs are very steep..DNA of a mountain goat required to get to the top floor...! However that aside the hotel is adequate and fulfilled it's obligation to provide accommodation on a budget. Summary, small room, clean, towels and bedding changed daily, breakfast, location and pleasant staff.

Have stayed here several times and all good apart from no smoking in any rooms now. Hotel, location, service, rooms and breakfast are good; it's what you get for the price, which for Amsterdam is good.

Nice hotel to stay. Staff were great. Hotel is in a great location. Breakfast was adequate. Try the Trinity bar next door. Nice and cheap. Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the train station and is close to everything you need.

This hotel is right in the center of the red light district;my room was basic and clean;the breakfast is continental style;2minute brisk walk to Dam Square.There was a bar right next door which was very handy for cups of coffee and toasties;for us a very good short break.

Great hotel, staff very polite and helpfull, room was the biggest ive stayed in the 9 times ive visited a'dam, clean with new towels and bedsheets every day... Great location, top of redlight district but on its best side, 4-5 mins from station..

I very much enjoyed my stay at the hotel, staff were friendly and spoke very good English. Was hard to sleep because could hear everything inside and outside the hotel but that's understandable if your staying in the heart of the red light, I wasn't too fussed. Only thing though is you couldn't bring anyone back without being charged. Wud of been nice to bring a couple of my friends back so I could chill with them for a bit seein as I was on my own in the room. But overall was a pleasant stay and would defiantly come back to the hotel and recommend to other people.

Good value for money,central place to stay with a hearty breakfast. Room was clean but the bed linen had seen better days. All the staff were cool. Been in a few hotels in this price range in The Dam in last couple of years and this is the best value have found so far.

The Vijaya is just a few minutes from Centraal Station and most of the coffee shops.The staff are very friendly and help full. They also give you a map on arrival which is far better than tourist information map.The breakfast is laid out on a table and you can eat and drink as much as you want You can also buy drinks and food at reception 24hrs a day.There is also a Febo across the canal where you can buy hot snacks very late into the night.The beds are comfortable and the rooms are clean. .The bar next door is one of the cheapest in the area.I am going back to Amsterdam next year and I will be staying there again

Overall, I enjoyed my stay in this generally clean, friendly hotel with convenient location. The main downside was that the old windows were not able to block much of the noise from the busy streets outside.

The hotel was in good location and the city center was near the hotel. I stay in a double room for 4 night. The room was clean but very small. A buffet breakfast was served in the morning and was really very good. The reception man was not very kind with me and I really got angry with him.

just got back from 5 nights here, cheap but that's reflected in facilities. room was clean and towels/sheets were changed daily. bathroom was spotless. no view though. if you want somewhere cheap, clean and safe this ticks the boxes, just don't go expecting the Ritz as you will be sorely disappointed.

I booked this trip on the basis on enjoying a cheap and convenient , which is exactly what I received on a pinnacle of extent. One gentleman went out of his way and above the call of duty to make sure we enjoy a satisfactory service but unfortunately the service I received from the rest of the staff was dissatisfactory and will not be making acquaintances with these people ever again.

Hotel is located in ideal place but the relation price to quality for me is on low level. We had heater in room not worked properly and nobody didn't help us. Room was very basic, toilet don't have heater that inside was very cold. Plus is the breakfast buffet. Generally hotel is enough for people that want to find place in some center of old Amsterdam but not great.

We're spoiled in the U.S. but the hotel had no amenities other than towels & soap in the room and breakfast downstairs which was very good. People sat outside our window drinking until the wee hours of the morning so we didn't get a lot of sleep after flying 10 hours to get there. The room was very small & the beds were pretty firm but the people running the hotel were very nice.
