Good friendly base near major art museums. On tram route from central rail station. Reasonable eating nearby, good breakfast in hotel. Quiet with windows closed but could be a bit hot in summer. Owner and staff helpful and pleasant.

Pros: Just feel good hospitality for everything. though little hotel and small single room, but everything is clean and new. staff is excellent and helpful. free coffee 24 hours. free wifi at room, and free internet available at lobby.

Pros: I traveled with a person who is disabled and the hotel staff, and owner/manager was very kind to help me with my fellow traveler. everyone went out of their way to help.

Pros: Staff was very pleasant and helpful with tourist activities. hotel location is within easy walking distance of van gough museum, riksmuseum and leidesplein.

Pros: The hotel staff were extremely friendly, especially the manager, who was lovely. room was nice and the hotel is nicely located. breakfast was good, with a nice selection of things to choose from.
Cons: The bathroom is very very small, so much so that 2 people cannot be in there at the same time. the bath is not so much a bath as a large basin, and the shower is cramped and uncomfortable.

Pros: When asked if we liked milk in our morning coffee, we said "cream if posible". the owner came up with cream for our second cup and for the rest of our 4 night stay....

Pros: Hotel owner very welcoming, helpful and friendly. room small but had all that was necessary for a short stay.
Cons: Road rather noisy as on the road and the warm weather meant the window had to be open. not sure why it was described as "a room with a view"! very steep stairs - not a problem for me but could be a problem for anyone with mobility problems

Pros: The zandbergen is a very pleasant, clean comfortable hotel. the beds are comfortable the shower easy to use and the host henk, was most helpful. the hotel is very clean. the location is close to a tram line and to the two major museums
Cons: The rooms although comfortable lacked adequate storage facilities and our room was a bit on the small side. the worst aspect of the hotel is a very steep stairway to the rooms and we consequently would not recommend the zandbergen to those who have difficulty with steep stairs.

Pros: The staff were extraordinarily friendly and attentive. after having read some of previous reviews and the noise from the tram outside the hotel, i had requested a quiet room in the back. even though i was informed that single rooms were only available in the front of the hotel, i was given a double room in the back for 3 of my 4 nights - and was not charged extra for this generous accommodation.

Pros: We stayed at the penthouse and it was absolutely beautiful, one small problem, the flight of stairs were not fun with the luggage. the penthouse was spacious,clean and very comfortable. the staff was friendly and very, very helpful. breakfast was great everyday.
Cons: We had a lot of problems connecting to the wifi. we stayed there for four days and were not able to connect once.

Pros: We were upgraded to the penthouse suite for no extra charge as they needed our triple room. wonderful space and roof terrace.

hotel in the museum district which is up market and on the tram line to more central areas which only take about 10 mins to get too. would definatley return to this hotel
