Located at Amsterdam’s Keizersgracht is the Museum Van Loon, a beautiful, traditional Dutch canal house owned by the regent family Van Loon. Although some parts of the house remain closed for public, the rooms you can actually see give you a great idea of the life of a Dutch aristocratic family in the 19th century. You can visit the kitchen, the garden, some of the reception rooms and the private quarters on the first floor. The restored house is full of Dutch paintings and objects. The Museum Van Loon also organizes exhibitions.
With its location in the middle of the Amsterdam canals area, the Museum Van Loon is a great place to start exploring the city from. Situated at Keizersgracht, many shops, restaurants, bars and other tourist attractions are within walking distance of the Museum Van Loon.
