      Tuschinski Cinema Details

The Tuschinski Cinema in Amsterdam is a very large, Art Deco movie palace that visitors to this area wont want to miss. It is located between the Rembrandtplein and the Munt Tower. Opened in 1921, the Tuschinski Cinema is probably one of the most beloved buildings in all of Amsterdam. The two towers on either side of the entrance are neighborhood landmarks, and can be seen from such areas as the Amsterdam Flower Market. The structure has been completely restored, and though still in use as a movie theater, plans are to have it recognized as an historical monument.

Tuschinski Cinema has six screening rooms total. The main auditorium features 740 seats, which include box seats and love seats. Meals and wine may be ordered inside the cinema, and brought to the private box seats. One of the more special features of the Tuschinski Cinema is its outdoor Art Deco façade. It was designed to make a person feel as if they are walking into an illusion, and it still does that job quite nicely.
