Great hotel for a genuine new york experience. i would however recommend spending the extra money for your own bathroom. i was unclear that many rooms shared a bathroom.Leon

Very well located. staff helpful. bathroom very clean.
We rented a private double room without bathroom. there was a single shower for the whole floor, which was extremely unpractical. the roomm we got was amazingly loud (from outdoor traffic). we've been in other cheap hostels before, but we never experienced something at this point; we could hardly hear ourselves speaking and had the impression we were sleeping directly on the street. the only way one could sleep was with (good) plugs in the ears.
