Regent of Rotorua  

This hotel is stunning in every way. I stayed only one night as I was there for a family golden wedding party, but can't wait to go back with my partner next time. I could not find fault with anything - beautiful decor everywhere, gorgeous pool plus lovely thermal pool to enjoy after a long journey, friendly service and excellent food. Room was lovely and spotlessly clean. It was not cheap but it was excellent value for money and it was certainly worth the cost.

We chose Regent of Rotorua based on the reviews in Tripadvisor. At first when we saw the outside of the hotel, we weren't sure what to expect. But the room was gorgeous, with upbeat black and white sophisticated decor, carefully thought out, and really comfortable (with a huge bathroom). We were thrilled to discover that they had their very own thermal pool, which we relaxed in on our final evening. The only thing we would have really enjoyed is a King sized bed (which we are used to sleeping in). The beds here are all Queen sized, which was a bit small for us to have a really comfortable night's sleep in......but that small inconvenience aside, the doona and the comfort top mattress were among the best we've slept in - definitely a 5 star sleeping experience. The owners and staff were extremely helpful - nothing was too much trouble, and we felt very welcomed by them all. The food was fantastic - I particularly liked the roast duck leg.....and another patron was raving about the beef dish. And we were a short drive to the centre of town, but with lots of restaurants and cafes nearby (none of which we tried, because we were too busy enjoying the food at the Regent).
